Ok Froch achieved but he fought with his face which was lucky for him having the hardest chin but boxing finesse he was short of.But Groves really shook him in the first fight
actually that was probably the one thing Froch said that the crowd gathered laughed at George with him; and the fact it was the last thing may have stayed in the mind of a weaker person. Man, this rivalry was real
Carl actually rattled him a bit there ohhhhhhhhhhh lord. George has been so calm and collected through the whole build up until this point. Cant fkin wait.
Froch pulled it back with the mind games on that 1, he needed to do something after everything groves has said. Think it was fight or flight for groves at the end though he needs to control those nerves
I really like froch ... And like groves since the de gale fight . But I think it's froch that's being so disrespectful here . Now I want groves to win . I hate all those personnel digs at groves when he's such a nice fella ... Come on groves
this is more like it, i have seen Carl's whole dominour change he is now up for this its took him a while but i think his nerves have settled and he realise's what he has to do may the best man win
I like both of these boys and I dont want either to lose but on Saturday I hope Froch wins by TKO round 8 as I dont like the bad mouthing Groves come up with (although I know its just to sell PPV) but who knows who will win - just makes for a great Saturday nights TV - good luck and a safe outcome to both its only all hype and entertainment.
Say what you will about Groves fact is he has a style that could cause Froch all sorts of problems can't wait for this fight! Good luck to both fighters
Groves has got to him but it doesnt mean he will win, it only means Froch will be more determined. Groves looked a bit shaky here especially at the end. Froch will win by late stoppage, Groves will take some punishment but he will get back up, and the referee will stop the fight.
Fucking Love Froch! He scared the shit out of Groves there, Gorves looked petrified and could barely talk when they are face to face! He knows he is in Trouble, the way he got pissed off at the end shows it.
The one thing you can be sure of, Groves won't frighten Carl Froch. I think it will be his vast experience against the very best that will give Froch a stoppage around the 8th round.
I so desperately hope Groves stretches Froch out! Carl's ego is out of control, he gets so butthurt at the slightest sign of "disrespect"! I honestly think that Carl expects anyone who fights him to say: "Oh well I'm not nearly as good as him but I'm gonna give it a go! I expect to lose but oh well, I'll go down swinging!"
Froch, while having achieved great things, has indeed just turned into a colossal walking ego in both his public and private life - I have this on account of Eddie Hearn's pressman who's good mates with the man himself. Good god I want this to be a passing of the torch type fight but sadly I can't see Groves, with the challenge of changing both trainers and gym, beating Carl but I'll be rooting for the saint all the same.
Froch bad mouthed Groves before the fight was even announced, throwing an absolute hissy fit when george sparred with Kessler, a move that any prospect would make if looking to further their career. George has acknowledged Carl's achievements short of erecting a grecian statue of the man himself slaying a hydra, with the heads of bute, taylor and pascal, in his living room which seems to be the only gesture of "respect" worthy of satisfying the cobras city sized ego these days. Groves has also had the audacity to point out several of Froch's glaring flaws, unashamedly (how dare he?!) saying that he's gonna take advantage of them. While this fury on Froch's part may just be to sell the fight it doesn't half make him look like a tit and make some people, myself including, slightly more inclined to support Groves come fight night. That, my boy, is where I'm coming from.
I think Froch has done some damage control here from ringside. Holy crap these two are fighting and it's me shaking in my boots. Although if I got offered £1.5M (or any of us) I'd get in the ring with both of them together LOL.
+danty362 yeah we all do, early stoppage or not Carl was coming on top at that point. Day one of amateur boxing you are told, if it starts to come on top and you are taking punishment, don't look like you dont wanna be there or the ref is stepping in. Groves didn't wanna be in there towards the win and he gave the ref a decision to make. Second fight he got iced.
If, and I think I really mean when froch loses control in the fight it wont help groves. He simply doesn't have the power or chin to cope with froch. Still I said something similar about the degale fight and I couldn't have been more wrong then!!
All that hard work Groves put in to try and get a mental edge over Froch was completely erased in those last few minutes. In fact there were moments where it was obvious that Froch had shit right up.
Seriously hope Froch comes a cropper on Saturday. Kid needs bringing down a peg or two. Humbling a little. I was a fan in his early days, before anyone knew him and he was on Howard Eastman undercards...but he has definitely changed for the worse. Needs to look at how Paquiou conducts himself.
Eubank and Benn was a great rivalry but this was brilliant and got me watching boxing again. It took nearly 3 years for Benn and Eubank to get a rematch together but these 2 was sorted in about 6 months.
And we all know what happened in round 1 hahahaa i know he won the war but great fight the first one froch got smashed up for 5 or 6 and then started catching a tiring groves who boxed lovely watched this first one about ten times good shit two men standing toe to toe
***** In any social interaction there's always one person reacting more to the other person. Whoever reacts more has the weaker sense of reality. Froch is unraveling in front of us, mark my words. Groves will take him apart on Sat!
BifurPoint What are you some kind of psychologist, get the fuck out of here with that bullshit. The sense of reality is that Carl Froch has been in there and beaten fighters twice as good as George Groves and you think he's rattled.Do me a favour don't delete this comment I want to come back and mock you after Carl lays him out.
***** For the record I'm a fan of both fighters but I know boxing and after weighing everything up I think Groves will win! See you back here in the early hours of Sunday morning, I look forward to it :)
You know your boxing? Yet you are judging the out come of a fight by the way they are acting at the final press conference. Good on ya,you sure know your shit. See you sunday.
dont get me wrong froch is hard as nails but he struggled against ward and dirrell fighters that are fast and slick groves is technically sound and tricky can see froch missing a lot of shots becoming frustrated
You're mentioning two elite fighters. Ward has never, ever lost, and Dirrell's only loss was to Froch. Dirrell is much, must faster than Groves and fights completely differently. George is a decent fighter and has an OK defense, but he isn't an illusive and fast-footed guy like Dirrell. I like Groves, but I don't see him pulling this off.
froch clearly won the head to head. we all know groves aint going to go toe to toe, hes going to be on his bike for 12 rounds. one thing people dont realise is that froch has the longer reach and groves cant fight on the inside
if george had any sort of chat he could have tipped carl over the edge there. but he doesn't. he seems like a schoolboy stood next to froch. he is WAY too quiet and respectful.
I rate Groves just think he has took this fight 2early in his career he looks nervous, Frock is at his peak cant see anything other than Froch winning by K.O
Why do they hate each other so much? I understand that boxers do all the media bollocks....but i think they are far beyond that?? I'm supporting George :-D
LOL, people buying into the froch hype big time, like he's some indestructible 1 punch knockout machine...lawd...Smart boxing fans, lump on a groves win, Jermaine Taylor came up from 160 after being knocked out in 2 or 3 by Pavlik and dropped and schooled froch before getting stopped in the final round a mile ahead on the card.
