Carl Martin Hot Drive´n Boost has been carefully designed to imitate the sound of a good old-fashioned distorting Tube-Amp.
The Hot Drive´n Boost is the perfect choice for that crunchy blues tone, with plenty left over for a great hard rock tone as well.
With the BOOST feature the Hot Drive´n Boost is a “TWO IN ONE” pedal. That allows you to get that extra “kick” (up to 20db) for solos to really stand out.

Love the Carl Martin hot drive n boost used to have one and played a lot of heavier stuff with it. The only thing I didn’t like about it was the fact that it had its own plug as opposed to running it from an adapter. Mine developed a grounding hum, it was gonna cost too much to fix so I chucked it in the bin. Love the sound for heavier stuff though.

I have the original or MK1 I use it only for the boost, no drive...boost on always for me it's fantastic clean boost.

Hi superb demo i really like it !!!! the sounds, playing and explanations are great! thanks Simon. i had a HD'B1 maybe 10 years ago and it was great but i can remember well! Today (Because of you ;)) i bought a HDB MKII it sounds great like you with Strat an gain betweeen 9 and 11 o'clock a la Jimi SRV clean/crunch light crunch. But with Humbuckers i think is less better. But if i have no problem with MKII? you can really play it with lot of Gain, i can hear the clean sound behind the crunch pedal likes TS od or xotic soul driven. Cheers

Chris RIBERA I agree, MK 1 is best with singlecoils. MK 3 is great with everything - More full sounding :)

Really good demo! deciding between #1 & #2 probably depends on personal taste. I like #3, but Im not a fan of subtle boost anyway. That being said, personally, #2 sounds like CRAP compared to the other two. I wonder if they just screwed up when they made #2 and were compelled to make a #3 to make up for it. I can't imagine how anyone would prefer it over #1 or #3.

You would prefer 2 if you already have a klone for a stage 1 od and are looking for a higher gain stage 2 od.

As I try to show in the video, they can sound close, but each of them has its own voicing. Mk 1 is the most vintage, mk2 more American and more compressed, mk 3 more allround with the best dynamics to my ears. The most natural overdrive.

Tak 😊 de går vist for en 6-800kr brugt alt efter stand. Nogle gange er der mange til salg, hvilket sænker prisen lidt. De burde være langt dyrere - fede pedaler og høj kvalitet

Pretty similar. Only real noise you are going to get is if you turn up the boost all the way. Cheers

Hi Joey. 3 different versions of the same pedal. 1 and 2 are more alike IMO, mk 3 is a new design but based om the same kind of drive. The mk.3 is a bit more modern to my ears. Check out the CM website for more info. Cheers

MK1 sounds best to me, MK2 sounds alittle muddy ,and 3 has more gain at the same setting.Why did they mess with the original?

Well I agree that for some some stuff the original sounds best. But not everything IMO. I prefer the mk 2 for the intro song riff. With more gain the mk 3 works best I think and it is the most full sounding with all frequencies. And very dynamic. If you just want a little boost the original sounds great

Your clean AMP is not super clean with your Strat!! just on the sweet spot zone likes Carl Martin recomand to use it?

Chris RIBERA Yes, my amp is clean but right on the edge of breakup like the good folks at CM recommend. Great overdrives. Cheers Simon

@@SimonGotthelfMusic Ok thanks a lot. You confirm that if you play it on crystal clear clean you Can hear both clean and drive pedal? Your have a great sounds with all three but imho the best for you is mk1;) cheers🍻
