One thx for replying to my last comment. You’re a world class elite player and I’m excited that you replied. Two, I just can’t get over how complete of a guitar player\musician you are. Fantastic work. Thank you for what you do
Pete you need to record this song. This should be more than just a demo piece. You could make a CD with just the stuff you make up for your product demos. Amazing stuff.
After watching this demo, I found one and tried it out for myself. It is the most amp like distortion pedal I have ever played, I may just have to pick one up. Awesome playing Pete, your demos are always very useful, and real.
Oh, what fun!!! I'm watching an old pedal review, and I get to hear "Perplexed" from the "Guitar Nerd" CD. What a treat; that CD has been in slot one of my car player for years. To see... excuse me, hear this pedal so faithfully replicate one of my favorite Pete Thorn pieces, as played by the man himself... WHAAAAAA ...oh, what a treat. What fun. Actually, what makes that piece great it that is so damn much fun. Rock on!!! This is rock guitar heaven.
I'm sure you've heard it a million times but, u are badass. Tone, technique, everything. I hope to be half as good as you one day. Keep posting videos man
Pete, your videos sure have come a long way man. Don't get me wrong. You still kicked ass even back then in this video. Shopping for new pedals led me across your older video.
If you actually read this (two years later!) I'd like to thank you for that great little bit of advice on setting your amp tone controls so the sound is very neutral to accommodate the pedal. I don't know why I never thought of that, but it so totally makes sense. Thanks very much!
I have just bought one of these on the back of watching this amazing guitar player.Thank you for the review, I have just subscribed to your channel so I can watch more reviews..Thank you from The UK..
Pete, I have just "discovered" you while checking out the vast wasteland of RU-vid pedal demo videos. You are an amazing talent that, at 50-Something, inspires me to want to play my guitar like 20 hours a day, like back in the Good Ole Daze, when I first started playing and got in my first band. You have a musical soul and I will be getting your cd's. Thanks for the demos!
what??? another sick intro. It's nice to see talented musicians taking the time to record demo's of equipment with backing band. sounds like a good pedal and sits nicely in mix
Good God man.... you are unbelievably good. I haven't played much in a few years but your videos are inspiring me to start playing again... thanks for that. Also thanks for your incredible tone which is the sound I hear in my head when I think of perfect tone. And above all else, thanks for keeping it clean and speaking intelligently so I can show your videos to my son. Rock on.
It's something I came up with for the demo- usually I start out these demos with an original piece of music that I write purposefully to demo the gear.
This pedal is buffered bypass which worked great for me as a second distortion pedal..the buffer is quality and i definately noticed the signal loss when i removed it from my chain..i also found that a boost worked better in front of it rather than after.
About a year ago I bought a PlexiTone based largely on your other video. Your perspective was spot on. I run direct in a church & use the Rock Bug for my "amp". I also get the high-end buzz/sizzle that I can't dial out, which is a bit frustrating at times. Thanks for the heads up w/this pedal. Always good stuff from Mr Thorn!
SMOOOOOOOOKIN' playing there man. And yes this stomp box has an amazing sound very few pedals get the compression right like this. Although the TC nova drive has very natural break up points This one is classic...gotta get one
Pete! Pete! Just stop! Please just stop! I can't take it anymore! I watch these pedal videos and then I get to the end and you blow my mind with 'PERPLEXED'! I AM PERPELEXED NOW! you truly have insane melodic timing and a sense of rhythm that is akin to none. Huge props my friend. Inspiring doesn't even do it justice! Please do a masterclass sometime in Nashville so I can come sit at your feet Yoda! Lol. I was in the studio last night finishing up some work on my Christmas album and while prepping the lead tone for an uber-rocking version of Santa Clause is Coming to Town, the engineer says to me, "That tone reminds of Pete Thorn." I smiled big and showed him this video from RU-vid. I was honored that so{Leone thought my tone sounded like you! That's what Ive been working towards! Bliss! Love the work my friend! Keep feeding us tonal infants from the pantry of valve goodness every week!
It's a great pedal! I play though a Marshall jcm800, pretty clean and on the low sensitivity input; with the plexitone to 'colour' my sound I'm getting great results! Thanks Pete!
Everything YOU play has this interesting little trick and lick power that I find so NOT Van Halen, but refreshing to my ears, almost Nuno meets Eddie but very much YOU Mr. Pete Thorn...and I really think You are on of the most underated guitar player out there!! Thank You for all the demos and great insight as to what gear and pedals you could get away with and still find great tone!! You just whipped ass with that last demo using that Wolfie!! Huge Fan!!
