Carl Rogers theory of Personality: Self image, Ideal self, Positive regard & Congruence 

Carl Rogers believed that all people are inherently good and creative enough works towards self actualization. But incongruence between self image and ideal self distorts their self concept thus disturbs their personality development.
Carl Rogers believed that unconditional positive regard plays an important role in developing higher self concept which makes an individual confident, open to face challenges in life, accepts failures and happy with his self Image where as conditional positive regard may disrupt in the process of self actualization.
