Carl Dean went from a 'chubby youngster" to a KILLER VOICED chubby senior. I am chubby, but I'd KILL to have Carl's voice! Carl Dean, best voice in all of music. steve
@@steveskouson9620 well I guess you forgot he was in great shape between the late 60’s until mid 70’s and with his divorce and substance abuse for a year he was in bad shape until he got clean and sober, separated and started taking care of himself and got in pretty great shape again in the 80’s until 90’s began the he got chubby again and after he got sick and got extremely fat cause all the cancer medication he was on. Still he was very handsome 🥰❤️
It always seems most people, don't get the recognition they deserve, until after they are gone. I think it's because we take people for granted when they are alive. But, when they leave us, we look back at their accomplishments, the things they've said and done, and realize we fell short. Carl is one example. Be nice to people, compliment them, appreciate them. Do it for you, just as much as for them. When they are gone, it will be too late.
So true! Yes, Carl is a perfect example of that. For the most part, he was under the radar, just doing what needed to be done, and because he managed to stay out of the spotlight and out of trouble, he rarely got the recognition he so deserved. Thank you for your beautiful words.

Yes, he never gave a half-hearted performance. That's what I loved about him. He would give it his all each and every time he sang a song, even though he must have sung the same songs hundreds of times.

God, I wish I was there. I wasn’t even born yet but I absolutely love this song and The Beach Boys, ever since I was 9 years old. Carl really had a voice of an angel. Rest In Peace. We miss you dearly ♥️
I too had talked with him a few times in the 80's. I will treasure those times forever and keep the photos taken close to me. He truely appreciated his fans and always had time for them. My favorite song of his.
Carl Wilson was playing in Memphis in 81 when he had that record deal. And I missed him, but when I moved to LA and 82, I went to a concert in 1984 at the Hollywood bowl and that was the first time I heard heaven and it was just unbelievable

You had so much talent and kept the band going through the hard times and it took its toll on you too for a while. But you came out the other side a better man and I have so much adoration and respect for you. I was lucky enough to get from Ebay the DVD, made in Japan, of the Beach Boys 25th anniversary show and watch such a beautiful song, sung by Carl, who had a beautiful soul. But what makes me so upset is that almost know one knows that CARL WROTE THIS LOVELY SONG AND MANY OTHER GREAT SONGS. Thank you Cuthbert for putting this on You Tube. Carl dedicated this song to Dennis. Carl also said that day that he hoped the Beach Boys would have 25 more years and beyond. I miss him so much.
How amazing this whole performance is. He was just such a genuinely good man. His talent just oozes from him. It is also so great to see a concert without Mike Love to there to grandstand himself! Carl Wilson you and your talented brother Dennis made this world a much better place!
The tone and warmth of his voice has such a velvety quality! Whether it was this lovely song or the masterpiece “God Only Knows” or any other tune he sang lead or even background for that matter, Carl sang with all his heart and soul! He did it every time until he tragically couldn’t because of the cancer that caused him to have to sit down during performances towards the end of his life. But whenever he sang “God Only Knows” he would manage to stand and sing to the adoring Beach Boys’ fans until the day he lost his battle with cancer! Carl you were kind, and a sweet, peaceful man who loved life, your friends and family, and of course, the music, you are missed very much! Rest in peace, the world lost a lovely soul when you parted from this world!

I consider myself very lucky to have been one of the people who did get to see Carl (and Dennis) in person. My friends and I crowded around the stage's footlights directly in front of Carl during the intermission of the concert I attended in 1978, so he was maybe just 10-15 feet away from us for the whole second half. My young heart thought, of course, that he was singing "Good Vibrations" directly to me.
I was so lucky to have heard Carl Wilson since the 70s while I was living in Memphis and then it hurt him many times on the west coast California Las Vegas, I just bought a ticket and next to me was Carl Wilson and the band they were walking in to the stage and I almost walked in with them . But a chickend out . But were at irvine meadows outside.
He was a life long chain smoker though he did partake in drugs and alcohol like both his brothers. I'm sure Brian never expected to be the last to go. RIP Carl and Dennis.
I agree, Wolfsky. Carl performing 'Heaven' really is about as good as it gets. Still, it's hard to argue with the BBs' choice of 'God Only Knows' as the tribute to the man who meant so much to the band in so many ways. We miss you, Carl. RIP, Great Man!

Carl Wilson WROTE this beautiful song, Heaven. Like Dennis, Carl also wrote great songs. Everyone knows about Brian, but very few people know that Carl wrote amazing songs. Listen to his "Feel Flows", Long Promise Road, and "Like A Brother". I was glad that I got from Ebay, years ago, the Beach Boys 25th anniversary concert that this video was taken from. I adore Carl.
