Wow, I'm just coming from the Get Back documentary. Seeing an older Billy Preston playing my favorite Harrison song actually almost brought a tear to my eye. Not to mention also having Clapton and Harrison's son on guitar with Paul and Ringo there too. I can't even describe the emotions that this video made me feel because it took me so much by surprise. Wonderful performance. And wow, Dhani Harrison looks SO much like his father here
I have dementia, which amongst other thing makes me very emotional. Tears are streeming down my face as I watch this. What an amazing tribute to a very humble man! RIP George.
I aint dementiaed yet, and I am crying. It's a great song, a great tribute that involves his son and great artists, and make no mistake about it, it involves Him and His Son, too.
OMG…I’m a black woman born in the 60’s and this song was everything at the time and it still is today… I loved the seventies, the music, the fashion every thing was great about that era. I miss those days
@@cdddan1 Honestly I can’t imagine anyone saying that. I think from 2016 to 2021 will be looked at like the Great Depression or the Civil War People are struggling & the country is more divided than ever.
To yeshua3451. I’m a black woman born in 61 and I also love the 60,70,80s music especially the old school music and this is my favorite song by George Harrison I love it I too miss this kind of music today it’s a very good thing I have cds, LPs, and cassette but hell no NO 8 tracks thank God yikes 😂 have a great day and evening with peace and 💕
@@teklife I agree. And even through a headset- I can identify most of unique sounds all coming together! With a perfect balance between Billy’s voice and the magic of the rest.
The amazing Billy Preston. What a voice! When you have Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, and Eric Clapton, and Dhani Harrison backing you up, you KNOW you've come home!
I hope Dhani, when he was on stage, respected the legends he was playing alongside, because assuming that place with them is the greatest of honors, just as they honored Dhani by having him stand amongst them. He will never be his father, but he earned his place representing him.
Think of the song as a hymn to consciousness, which is sourced by something -- and it's not mind-made religion. There's everything in this song for an atheist once you appreciate that.
@@mattmellinger3990 I assume you realise this song is about Krishna not Jesus! But thanks for the recommendation. (British sarcasm unless you didn't realise)
Billy struggled with addiction and battled demons his entire life and yet he was capable of giving us such beautiful music. It’s hard to believe he’s been gone for fifteen years. Rest In Peace, Billy
Amen Brother! The same for the Divinely gifted Sir Eric. The Great Spirits greatest work has always shown through in those who suffered the most in this life, or the next...
An illustration of how powerful a songwriter George Harrison was. He was in a band with the two greatest songwriters in history. George shone very brightly in his solo career. His light will shine on forever.
As The Beatles did their last ever record in the studio, "Abbey Road", Harrison wrote "Something" and "Here Comes The Sun". Both John and Paul gave high praise to their band mate. McCartney said, "George now writes songs that are at least as good as John's and mine". Lennon said "Something" is the best song on the album. They must have realized that as they all got more mature into their mid and late 20s, George was in a bit of a tough spot since John and Paul had been the ones who had written most all their songs from the beginning and were such good song writers. Harrison was 3 years younger than John and a year and a half younger than Paul. when they started John was 16, Paul was 14 almost 15. George was only 13 at that time. When you are that young, 1 or 2, and especially 3 grades older kinda makes a big difference when you are in your middle school and high school years. That is where the dynamic of the band began.
@@nycinstyle Lennon was a wife-beater and was also criminally overrated, as was his horrendous sounding wife. The truth in the matter is that Harrison never needed The Beatles...
@@davidlindley2754 Harrison I am positive was extremely happy that he was a part of The Beatles, and he would disagree with your comment calling Lennon overrated. Obviously, Harrison didn't need Lennon and McCartney to be a great musician/singer/songwriter, none of them needed each other. All of them duh of course were very happy they were together and members of The Beatles.
@@blt981 I think so! It's really interesting because that isn't something that **I** have understood from previous recordings and on the album but it's easily read in the lyrics so I don't know why I hadn't noticed!

Billy Preston died a few years after this. Indeed, he is now in heaven with his friend and they are probably singing together. Rest in peace Billy and rest in peace George. You are missed but never forgotten.
The resurrection of the dead has not yet come, they sleep. Furthermore, there are no musical instruments in heaven. We will be like angels of light. Read the Bible and you will know the truth, Jesus!
That's for sure, a lot of rock stars in heaven, excellent Billy Preston and George Harrison was singing with all the stars on Stage, very high class version, this song is a good way to conect yourself with God, to give thanks, George Harrison leave this legacy to humanity
I met Billy when he came in to “Nicky Blair’s” on Sunset Blvd. I played there for years. Billy sat right in front of me, 1st table, we talked the whole time he was there, all evening, during my gig. I play a single gig, keyboard with a grand piano with a synth on top for my left hand bass. He asked about the combination of sounds I was using for my bass. I told him I was stacking 3 sounds, Rhodes, B3, and acoustic bass. He really liked the fullness, it was smooth with a little Rhodes chime. He asked if “He” could use it??? Wow, YES!!! It was a great compliment from one of the Greatest!!!
They say George Harrison infringed on the Shirelles’ “He So Fine”. Well, the public worldwide loved it. “My Sweet Lord” was the biggest selling song in America in 1970 - topping charts internationally! Song Of The Year at the 1971 Grammy Awards. Finally, l want to see the Lord, one day! Enough said…
My father died of Leukemia in 2016. I miss him so much I wish I would have spent more time with him. I didn't know who I had until he was gone. I play this song over his grave with flowing tears as I can't wait to see him again.
A master piece by Georges Harrison RIP. What ever is your religion, the spirituality of this song is deeper than the ocean. I'm a muslim and can't have enough of it.
@@wassabii2810 actually it is, George always believed that all religions were a path to God. And, at the end of his life he actually accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior about a year before his passing. He then dedicated the song to Jesus as a heartfelt dedication to the end of his spiritual journey. As Christians, always remember that we must be like Jesus and love everyone and everything as they are, even if they don’t coincide with our beliefs. ❤
RIP George Harrison (February 25, 1943 - November 29, 2001), aged 58 And RIP Billy Preston (September 2, 1946 - June 6, 2006), aged 59 You both will be remembered as legends.

He has died, but you haven't lost him because he lives forever in your heart and mind. Close your eyes, and you will see him. Open your heart, and you will hear him..He is with you always.
Oh yes, Prayer is a conversation i have to have all the time, so many bad stuff telling me to do bad stuff, but jesus told me to ignore those voices and be kind to myself, Prayers to you

Yes, I have experienced such loss. The grief goes, then a memory comes back. But I know somehow we shall meet again. I can't explain it in words, however an intuitive spirit tells me so.
Thank you, George Harrison, for this beautiful song and thank you to Your son and Billy Preston, Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and the many other wonderful musicians and singers that paid tribute to you this way. Absolutely stunning.
Dear @guitar ..... I did have tears in my eyes ..... where do the years go ..... (I'm 79) and just loving this dancing around my condo .... thanks ... just so greatly wonderful !!
Billy Preston and the whole gang of musicians and back-up singers are amazing in this live rendition of the song. Probably that's needless for me to say, given the 137+ million views at the moment. But this is really fabulous! Superb!
I am not a religious man. But this brings tears to my eyes. How on earth you cannot be moved by this song is beyond me . And the dislikes not worth mentioning
@shame fitzsimons - I'm the same! 51 years old, tears streaming. Why is that? Religious? Me? No. Spiritual maybe? Something in this brings out my love for other humans.
As much as I love George Harrison performing this himself, Billy Preston's version brings me to tears! George left us 19 years ago today! He's up there singing with Billy!
Paul playing Piano, Ringo playing Drums, George's son playing guitar looking just like him. So heavenly. It is also weird on the amount of talented friends George had.
@@yagesh287 Billy Preston wasn't an actual Beatle, but played with them, and other artists, often. Billy was an R&B/funk/gospel artist of the 1960s and 1970s. He had some great songs, and backed many of the artists of the day. "Nothing From Nothing" is one of my favorites. Look it up. 😁
I just want to note how Mr. Preston got everyone up on their feet here. He absolutely preached this song. I hope that George was somewhere he could see this, because I expect he would have loved it.
He let the audience know that this is a moment. It took them a while but they figured it out because he waited for them. Good observation, I wish I was there!
I read many comments about the production of this glorious song but not much about the message. Sure, one can get caught up in the magnitude of the performance but remember how sweet the Lord really is. God bless you all!
Billy's voice in this performance is the most soft and wonderful voice I've heard in a very long time. George must be sitting up there in heaven crying tears of joy.
@@DaveBallOW Autotune!!!!??? WTF - He's not near that at all. Autotune always give that kind of artificial aftereffect, but Preston doesn't need that. That's obvious!
I was singing along with this one and when I got to the first Hare Krishna I sobbed and got tears to my eyes. The love for the lord transcends all boundaries; language, culture, and time
Billy Preston recorded this song right when George Harrison wrote it and it was not successful, and at the end of his life, he gave voice to this spectacular version. Justice was done!
I AM SO CHOKED LISTENING TO THIS .THERE ARE TEARS RUNNING DOWN MY FACE .ITS SO BEAUTIFUL .BILLY YOU RE THE BEST .GEORGE WOULD HAVE BEEN SO PROUD OF YOU. LOVE AND RESPECT IN THIS MAD WORLD .
Billy just radiates with Love here as he did every time he preformed! Makes me sad that I never got to see him Live, loved All his music since I was 10 years old!!
Came across this around a month ago and it has become my starting and ending my workday song, you know the one you play when you get in the van and are on your way home. it sets me up for the day and clears my mind going home, that's the power of Georges music. Billy Preston you the man,
Just watching their performances I could always tell that George Harrison loved Billy Preston clear back to that last Beatles performance on the rooftop in 1969. I think that Billy Preston brought the gift of peace to George -- Hare Krishna. Happy Birthday.
Beautiful song and how true. Life is fragile and loosing my husband seven years ago reaffirms, that we need to tell our love one how much we love them while they are alive. I miss him so much after 52 years together❤️🙏
I'm from gen z, and I freaking love this song, as well as the beatles and george (he's always been my favourite beatle) Preston's voice on this cover is amazing, rip to both george and billy ❤🕊
To see George's son playing along with the Greats, plus the Great Billy Preston, I'm 50 years old, of course a few tears fell, this was beautiful 💪🏿💪🏿💯💯.
@@shatelleperry6881 Billy Preston is one of the most underrated musicians EVER and was never given his due. It's a crime that he wasn't inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame until 2020 - 14 years after dying in 2006. He wrote some of the Beatles greatest hits and was considered the 5th Beatle. Even the Beatles ripped him off and never gave him his full recognition. Preston died with a Net worth of $1 million dollars. The follow are the net worth for each Beatles: Paul McCartney: $1.2 BILLION! Yoko Ono (Lennon): $700 Million Olivia Harrison (George): $400 Million Ringo Star: $350 Million Billy Preston: $1 Million There's something seriously wrong with those numbers! SHAMEFUL!
Oh my...Billy Preston...An American treasure and talent that can never be emulated. A monster songwriter, virtuoso musician, fellow Houstonian and magical musical collaborator. From his work with Little Richard, The Beatles to his solo albums...he inspires, uplifts and makes us all want to be better humans...Rest In Peace...Billy...!
The entire ensemble for all the songs played for the 2002 Concert for George is truly mind-blowing and with all those icons up on the stage - the music is at another level. It's very rare that live performances trump the official versions, but this concert is an exception. Never tire of listening.
No, he did not ! The LORD JESUS CHRIST is not Hare Krishna.... and all the other false gods! Listen to the backing singers .... what are saying, Hare Rana, Hare Krishna, Guru Vishnu, guru devo, parabahma, guru nahama etc. These are all names of false gods. Cannot and will never be The Gospel... the Gospel is about the LORD JESUS CHRIST. Sounds good but not good.
I’m an atheist but I’m a big fan of the song, studying religions to understand them and have nothing wrong with religion since they’re amazing charitable organizations. I just don’t like it when others push their religious beliefs onto others and are inconsiderate to other beliefs.
Sad to hear that Billy Preston passed away. He was much more than just a keyboard player. He was a producer, a song writer and an all-round musician. His soulful voice will ring in my head forever. What a singer he was.
Me, too. I am dismayed to know that Billy Preston has died. I enjoyed his musical keyboarding since I became a young adult. As a keyboardist, Billy Preston made music come to life.
🎸❤️🇬🇧🎹👏 Thank you so much George Harrison. We are indebted to you for gifting us this timeless inspiring Divine tune. Outstanding performance by Billy Preston along with legends..Huge respect.AMEN.
ive probably watched this like 50 times in the past week. you can't match Billy Preston's feel for music. i loved watching his energy in Get Back so cool
No kidding I can't believe the judge somehow think this sounded like he's so fine and Harrison lost the rights to this but amazing the way this was done with Billy Preston and the rest of them priceless tc staysafe

Billy puts so much emotion in his singing it is simply put Phenomenal. So unfortunate that Billy is gone RIP to both George Harrison and Billy Preston. Thank You.
Haha me too. My father sent this to me this morn. He's a big Clapton fan from back in the day- I'm 30 and my first concert was Clapton; I just got into Preston and he sent me this cause he's quarantined and bored out of his mind. So very nice.
MrTenyearsafter07 that’s awesome 👍🏻 and I would love to see Clapton live, so you’re lucky! It’s crazy how we discover or rediscover the best music in times like this
OMG never seen this video before. Sitting here watching it and sobbing for George, John and my youth. Where did the years go 😢 and how lucky are we that these four guys combined to produce music like this. Beatles forever ❤
The amount of talent on that stage is mind blowing. Clapton managed to organize this show exactly one year to the day George passed. He really worked his tail off to accomplish that. This ranks as one as the greatest concerts ever. Well done Eric!!!
Totally agree, a show of enormous category, it is really exciting to see these unique musical talents in the tribute to George Harrison and precisely with this song, which I have personally loved from the moment I heard it for the first time. It brings back so many memories of my youth. Greetings from Argentina.
Billy was an absolute Beatle. They were like children around him when recording as he was such an accomplished musician when he worked with them all those years ago. God bless him
@Mike G -- There is a reason beyond just the greatness of the song: George actually wrote -- and gave away - "My Sweet Lord" to Billy Preston in 1970, who put out his own much more Gospel style version as a single that year. And yet... Billy, Eric Clapton, Ringo, Gary Wright and others ended up playing on Harrison's release of the song that same year. Meaning Preston was involved from the very beginning. He also worked with the Beatles off and on for years, as well as the Rolling Stones and others. A versatile, much loved artist. So he deserved to enjoy this last tribute to his friend George.
It’s true but lit like a lot of victims billy was one himself. Sexualy abused as a child. Who knows what torment these people suffer. It’s like a cycle of abuse. Remember billy for being a great musician. Perhaps his failings were not his fault.
I remember Billy being in the 2nd version of the Sergeant Pepper movie. I really love this song, though. George Harrison and Billy, amazing musicians. I know about Billy and the abuse etc. That's a big batch of imperfect! But it's also a sickness and him being abused is not his fault. People do what they know, even if, logically, they know it's wrong. I read he was honestly remorseful. There are sicknesses that aren't likely to be curbed with any treatment but imprisonment. It's horrible. However, I choose to look at the good he did in his life. He was an amazing musician and with this gift he did good in the world. He made people happy and made others want to be worthy of life. Yes, he did terrible things, but the man is gone from this world. I am not excusing anything he did, but only saying we can look upon the good as a bit of repayment for the pain he caused.
Thanks Billy. Growing up in the ‘70’s, I bought all your albums and danced by myself in the mirror and dreamed of being heard. Not sure if life turned out right, but I tried. I dedicate your new song to people I might have wronged, because I’m an introvert and very shy and probably came across alof. Ugh!!!
Didn't expect what we got🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽♥️ Mahalo for the happy memories. It'll go round in circles. God bless, Mr Preston☺️ 2 months later.. I'm back.. and still cannot stop crying🙏🏽
Doesn't matter if we understand or not indian language from the lyrics of this Song . What COUNTS IS HOW MAREVELOUS, REALLY WONDERFUL AS WELL AS , A DEEP JOY AND EVEN NOSTALGIA FROM THE MISICALITY OF THIS INDIAN SONG . JUST LOVE IT. NEVER TIRED TO LISTEN . THANKS. GOD BLESS ALL THE INDIANS (WHO DIED AND WHO ARE STILL LIVING) ! THEY ARE "THE TRUE AMERICAN NATIVES" .
What I love most about this video (apart from Billy Preston’s fabulous soulful voice) is that everywhere you look on that stage are world class famous musicians who look as relaxed as if they were jamming with their friends in someone’s living room .No one is trying to be the ‘star’ and they all look so bloody happy to be there . It puts me in such a good mood watching them
My mother was in the kitchen. She always had the radio playing. We lived on a farm Michigan. I think it was January of 1964, and I was 16. She told me to come listen to the radio. It was the Beatles singing the song, 'I Want to Hold Your Hand'. I have been a Beatles fan ever since. I own many records and albums. God rest his soul.

That was an all star tribute. George’s Son looks just like him, Paul, Ringo, and Eric Clapton was great! In the beginning , they used to call Billy the 5th Beetle because with his talent and friendship, he blended right in. Loved the song.
If you don't count Pete,, Actually he's the 5th Beatle. Jeff Lynne 6th. Jeff's better than all of em together. He n Georgie playing banjos is priceless.
Murray the K from WINS in NYC was the first Fifth (not in the band) Beatle. He went on the 1964 US tour and mentioned being the fifth beatle constantly . Not sure if he was the emcee but wouldn't be surprised. First time I ever heard the term.
