The Tessar lens design is probably the most successful lens design ever. There are many copies of this design including The Schneider Xenar, Agfa Solinar, Voigtlander Color Skopar, Pentax macro, Rodenstock Rogonar, and Minolta autocord , and many folding cameras have this lens design. My best value for money camera with this type of lens is the Voigtlander Vito B with the f3.5 lens. Your focussing at infinity problem could be the adapter is slightly too short. Cheers Edward
WOW what amazing knowledge you have Edward. A real insight. The focusing issue is not just when I adapt the lens but when it's on my MTL5. I will try and make a video on that as well. Thanks Jason
I love old glass and was interested to see how you got on with the adapted Tessar. I have an Alpha 3000 and an M42 adapter, which I have just started experimenting with - still a work in progress as far as focusing goes. I hope you manage to continue with the film, because I have watched a few of your videos, looking for tips, as I have just started home processing myself (and vlogging for fun). keep up the good work!
Hi Thanks for your comment. I have had my adapter for a few years now and use it from time to time. I will continue to do film photography and post here. It just like everything at the moment the cost. I will try and keep them down. I am grateful when people help out and donate via my buy me a coffee. Thanks Jason
Hey, just a heads up on the overfocusing, that may actually be an issue of the Adapter if it is too long or short. Unless you have the lens ring physically turning too far ofcourse.
Well, another film channel goes down. I am not into digital or lens reviews. If this becomes yet another dime a dozen digital camera channel I will be unsubscribing.
