Two icons Carla and Karen. Love theirs elegance. The era a supermodels is now gone. I can not call todays model supermodels at all. I miss those times.
Karen does have an accent when speaking French though. Carla does speak it flawlessly, but to be fair, she grew up in Italy and France back and forth as a kid.

I think they had a fall out, or eventually their frienship grew apart after years, to the point where they are no longer friends in contact. Carla seems close with Farida Khelfa these days, attending many PFW events with her. She even included her and Naomi in an IG post about friends day. Sadly there was no mention of Karen. Out of the supermodels of the 90s, Carla still keeps in contact with most of the European models like Naomi, Helena, Nadege, Marpessa, Eva, and to a lesser extent Kate and Claudia. The North American ones like Cindy, Linda, Christy, Kristen, Marpessa, Kate, Shalom, Amber, she still talks in IG, but probably doesn't get to run ino events as often, since they tend to stay in North America, and Carla stays in Europe. As for Karen, idk what the fall out might have been. But perhaps Karen was going through a very dark time during the late 90s to early 00s, when she was retiring from modeling, and transitioning to a music career in France along with Carla. Maybe Carla found easier success, and Karen was deemed unstable and crazy by the media for the rape accusations. Of course, these days we know more about mental health, and with the Me Too movement, we know how dirty and fucked up the modeling industry is at exploiting young girls, with filthy perverts like Gerald Marie and John Casablancas being part of this toxic engine. I truly hope we get to see Karen Mulder make a full come back to modeling. We still love her dearly and wish for her return, as well as Yasmeen's.
