Carlie Hanson is a mythical being that simultaneously exists in a world made up of the guitar-driven dreams of late ‘90s indie rock and the euphoria of anthemic, empowering pop. In less than two short years, Hanson has gone from working at a McDonalds in a small Wisconsin town to an authentic artist on the rise who has opened for the likes of Troye Sivan and YUNGBLUD. It is a suburban dream she is in the midst of living first-hand and one she gives sonic shape to in her exhilarating debut EP ‘Junk.’
Tying together themes of teenage discovery and love with nights of listless summer discontent, ‘Junk’ arrived as veritable proof that Hanson was ready to lead the next wave of pop, even if that next wave may be slightly punk. As part of our latest “All Eyes On” showcase series, we had the pleasure of inviting this artist on the rise to perform the closing track of her debut EP. Backed by a breathtaking view of the New York skyline, Hanson delivered a moving rendition of “Hazel” that will be stuck on our minds for some time to come.

She is awesome. It's amazing how she has crossed over from McDonald to the music scene. Hers is one success story that I cherish and would like to share her music with my friends because it's lovely. She is truly one to watch. By the way, OTW might want to put the spotlight on Inigo Pascual, a Filipino singer-songwriter who is trying to crossover, becoming an international artist. He dropped his first original single in the U.S.A. titled Options end of June, and the second one titled Catching Feelings, during the first week of August at the House of Blues in Anaheim where he was featured in a concert of Tribal Theory. His first album in the US is coming out before the year ends. He worked with American producer Harv who is also producing an album of Justin Beiber. Inigo had a successful singing career in the Philippines before crossing over. His single "Dahil sa 'Yo" topped the chart in the Philippines for three months and its official video gained more than 13M views. He has been doing a tour of radio stations in the US, the latest being at iheart radio in Hawaii where he also did a concert last Monday. His radio guesting also included one at BBC London. He has an upcoming concert in Canada sometime in October and there are other engagements. How cool it would be if OTW can feature Inigo in its "Eyes On . . ." It would thrill his fans in the Philippines and in other countries, especially those in LA whom he fondly calls Loveties. Looking forward. More power and God bless.
