The 2023 US Open main draw runs from August 28 - September 10 in New York City at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The tournament takes place for the 143rd time and is the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year. Last year, Spain's Carlos Alcaraz and Poland's Iga Swiatek claimed the men's and women's singles titles. It was both players' first US Open title, with Alcaraz winning his first Grand Slam title and Swiatek winning her third Grand Slam title. This year, at the US Open, we’re set for another historic tournament as the world’s best tennis players head to New York. Ok his team calls him that? Interesting. As for me, Carlitos is as "endearing" as it gets. Charlie, for whatever reason, sounds demeaning. Probably that I have a hard time mentally separating the usage of that name during the Vietnam war. Charlie on any man makes me think of the destruction of war. I have a problem.

⁠@@jddIInot entirely true. I was in the stands at Arthur Ashe Stadium for today’s practice with Djokovic and Medvedev. They were both first hitting light, then they played a few games and it was like I was watching a real match. They were hitting the ball so hard and moving and running for drop shots and trying to win the point. Even when Novak would miss a shot, he would get upset at himself and talk to his coach. I loved watching it. They were entertaining and making real hard, difficult shots. Man they are competitive, even a couple of days before the US Open begins.
