I agree, love that band!!! Kevin and Frankie Banalli god rest their souls are hopefully jamming in heaven!!! Very underrated and underappreciated and talented band!!! @@johndef5075 dude... it was around 50 bucks cause of the four hour chartered bus ride.... I was 16 and we had a blast!!! The stadium put up two stages. One at each end of the soccer field... one band was playing while the other one was setting up... there were no assigned seats. You could go up into the stadium seating or down to the floor level.... that was one of the best festivals I went to along with Monsters of Rock that past summer at the same location.

Dude, that is one insane killer line up. Talk about the perfect time to see every one of those bands. On the upswing, tearing it loose, cutting a path that others would follow for decades even through today. That was a master stroke of luck. Did you buy and hang onto any concert t's from the event?

@@theodosios2615 I have a better one: Why do they have to stick with the known Hollywood names to replace players? Carlos Cavazo is a true class act. He's always held his own over the years and he's been through quite a few changes. This dude has complete control of his guitar especially at loud, loud volumes. I remember seeing him in a post Quiet Riot band called HEAT. It was Carlos, Kevin DuBrow, Frankie Banalli and a bass player who I forget. It was in a club in Philadelphia called the Chestnut Cabaret. I've always been a big fan of Carlos and I was totally psyched to see him. I don't know exactly why, probably shitty marketing and whatever, but there was literally 4 people in the club. It was low budget as well. They were touring in a beat up old Winnabego RV with a little U Haul trailer for equipment and gear... It was fucking crazy man. But I'll tell you man, that whole night I was right in front of Carlos and he sounded fucking smoking. He played a black Les Paul Custom all night through two full Marshall stacks (2 100 watt heads with 4 4X12 cabinets with 25 watt Celestions). He played wicked fucking loud. It sounded awesome man. I mean loud like King Eddie Van Halen or Pete Townsend. Carlos sounded great - total control and authority over his rig man. A consumet professional who knew exactly what he was doing... With only 4 people in the crowd he played his ass off and sounded great. I have a great deal of respect for Carlos Cavazo... When he talks he's humble and honest and I will always wish him the best in his career for sure.

I wish he would have elaborated more on questions like "what was it like recording that first record?" I was hoping for in studio and touring details, stories........ He seems to shoot straight forward with a brief answer, then onto the next question. Oh well, Carlos is awesome regardless. I love battle axe. Thanks for the interview.

My favorite Carlos Cavazo guitar moments occur in the re-recording of “Don’t Wanna Let You Go 1999” off of Alive and Well. That acoustic solo is so tasteful & badass.

we opened for QR once on their "Randy Years" tour in shreveport (1994 or so). Carlos was by far the coolest guy in the band. He spent time with us and asked us to walk him to the hotel a block or two away. By the end of the night all I wanted was to kick dubrows ass. carlos stopped me. He handled it like a pro and I learned a valuable lesson about ego. Wussup and much appreciation to Carlos for that. and kudos on the channel. love it.

To make a long story short he caught an attitude with me. I wish it hadnt happened. It went on through the day and into the night. Had to do with his wig falling off and how he signed my randy years poster. I called him off the bus and he wouldnt come. Im sure carlos remembers but i hope he dont. Hes the one who came outside and talked to me. It did me alot of good. Always a fan much love to carlos and RIP to kevin. We all grew up and im sorry.

I stuck out of the house to go to their concert back in the early 80s. . I got to meet the band. That was an outdoor concert in the afternoon, Providence RI and something horrible happened to one of the concert goers. I wonder if Carlos or Rudy remember the incident sometimes. I asked Rudy one time and he say yes. I met Rudy a couple more times after that concert at other events, and gatherings. Rudy is a sweetheart., he signed a couple of pics for me that day, one for my best friend who was in the hospital fighting anorexia who was his biggest fan. I was so sad when I had heard of Kevin and Frankie's deaths, such good talent. May they rest in peace. And may Rock and Roll live Forever!

Metal Health was the first Heavy Metal record i bought at 12 years old. It got me into Metal. I liked Boston and knew about Van Halen & AC/DC. After watching Quiet Riot play the US Festival, i was sold. I also did not know about the falling out he had with Frankie. Probably explains why Carlos refused to be interviewed in Frankie's documentary/movie.

Around the time Of that quiet riot documentary, Frankie Banali Did an interview with Eddie trunk. The interview has since been taken off the Internet. In the interview trunk says to Frankie something like “ What is going on with Carlos because when the cameras went on him he didn’t look too happy and he didn’t really want to say anything”. Banali then stated that even in the glory years Carlos and him never had anything in common and that they ran with different friend circles and really never interacted all that much.

Carlos would hang his guitar out right in the middle of us. He smiles the whole time , as Always. All 4 members were nice that night.
