Dedicated to the one and only Carlos Santana. This is a fan-made video including a variety of Santana's performances. 5.Africa Bamba 4.Europa 3.Corazon Espinado 2.Smooth 1.Black Magic Woman. Enjoy!
Legend Song yes, his is style is unique, but is very bluesy, It seems as if he only knew the pentatonic scale (have seen whole concerts of him and observed as only he plays 2-3 pentatonic boxes), and sometimes Dorian mode, but he is not a great guitarrist, he compose great tunes, But his skill at playing the guitar is mediocre
Yeah he doesn't shred lighting fast, but he does something that is way harder. He loses himself in the music and becomes one with his guitar, he's playing from his heart... That my friends CANNOT be taught, it comes only with a skilled musician and for that I tip my hat to mr Santana.
I can be taught. If their mentor teaches them to feel the music. They will tend to play with those kinds of "weird expressions" you can always tell a musician playing for his heart when it comes into melody and the facial expressions.
Jude Matthew He truly believes in Angels. In his concert video from Mexico Tittled Sacred Fire he talks about them before diving into his performances. That's why when you see him looking up into the sky and I'll admit a lot of musicians do when their playing he does it with spiritual intensity. He claims he's guided by them. I believe this. There's a verse in the Bible my friend that said IN EVERYTHING YOU DO PUT GOD FIRST AND HE WILL BLESS YOUR EFFORTS WITH SUCCESS. I have the concert series CD of Sacred Fire. To me it's his best yet. GOD BLESS you amigo. Happy New year.
i'm glad to know him, seriously guitarist like zappa, jeff beck, and santana all of them are so underrated just because they don't play shred as fast as lightning
''O mais importante do q ser veloz é ser melodico. Senao vc vai ser admirado por uma enorme quantidade de homens, mas por nenhuma mulher.'' - Carlos Santana
Carlos Santana has one of the most gorgeous tones on the electric guitar I've heard. The other two are David Gilmour and Eric Johnson. Those three are my favourites when it comes to purely tonal guitar work. There's no order, since I cannot compare them because their styles are different. An underrated solo is Into The Night with Chad Kroeger.
Really underrated in my opinion, he's got like a Robert Waters/Jimi Hendrix/Joe Walsh feel. Its hard to explain but hes got such a cool groove about him.
@@toddcorbitt3519 yes of course, stealing may be the wrong word. I was just so amazed at how he takes this lick and adds his own groove and virtuosity to it. A lick thats so iconic that everybody, who knows at least a little bit about classic rock, could tell you where its from Don‘t get me wrong I‘m not saying that it‘s „illegal“ to use a lick clapton played first, it‘s just rare to see people who are confident enough to just play it and f*cking own it (if that makes sense to you)
I love how Carlos looks like he could also fix your sagging gutters after melting your face off with that sweet sweet Spanish blues sound just a different player man he really plays outside the box
Had the luxury of being on stage with him in New Orleans when I was 8 wish I could find video footage but it’s been lost and I have yet to find it online which I’m sure it’s there somewhere
I can listen to Santana all day and night because his passion suits me. As far as the best? That is just as much taste and personal conviction. I will go with what Eric Clapton said because I would think he would know and I also believe growing up in the period......" no one better than Duane Allman".
Brilliant guitarists but players like beck, clapton, vaughan, van halen, allman,b.b king and specially page are technically better players. Sorry, almost forgot about hendrix. There,s so many brilliant guitarists out there, young, gilmour, berry, rhoads, richards,Atkins, iommi, the list goes on and on, Blackmore,r.Gallagher,zappa,l.wray,vai,townsend,reinhardt, sorry if i have left players out but like i said there,s that many good ones.
he doesnt shred but i still prefer him than malmsteen. Musicality cant be taught its something inside u . santana with 10 notes makes a great melody and some fast guitar player with 301130410410 can fuck up
1) I see a lot of idiots commenting how santana sucks, he cant do this, he cant do that, his music is like this, his music is like that, nothing special about it etc.. 2) And I also see a lot of idiots defending santana and saying those who commented negatively on santana should try to do better or cant do better so they dont have the rights to criticize.. Why I consider both type of people idiots is because for the group of people in the 1st category, your opinion/critics doesn't matter because he is making a lot of money with his music.. So even if what the people in category 1 says is true, he obiviously is doing something right, well the proof is all the money that he makes.. Why the 2nd group of people is also idiots is because people's opinion/critics are their thoughts, anyone can say whatever they want because its their opinion, they can hate/love something but it doesn't mean that everyone else have to. And it doesn't mean that they themselves have to be better then santana to criticize or hate him.. My opinion on santana, His music rocks, not the best guitarist in my list but he is in the list of one of the best.. enjoyed his music when I was young and still do enjoy them occationally. Now the wait for all the english literature experts, english teachers, people with degrees, masters, and PHD in english to criticize me on my bad english and have no point whatsoever in the actual topic of my comment.
I'm not a fan of him. He might have been hot shit in the 70s but those times are long gone. I don't buy his whole religious experience bs, and his facial expressions are laughable. His skills might have been decent in the era but are elementary now. Additionally he's got a bit of a shit personality, conceited and arrogant.
