Modern Reggae is sooo cool, soothing and well produced! Listen to Iya Terra, New Kingston or E.N. Young. Amazing Reggae artists, taking it a bit further.

Another great lesson from Prof. Cobb. My interpretation of some of those high hat triplets is that drummers were doing a real-time imitation of the delay/echo that engineers would sometimes add to dub mixes.

i looove reggae drums! I'm still not a drummer yet very much enjoyed this. Maybe I should try to learn some stuff about drums to make my own music (in which I program drums) better.

Not sure how relevant this is, but in a rock context a couple of great reggae grooves can be found in Patti Smith's "Redondo Beach" and Elvis Costello's " Watching the Detectives."

Watching The Detectives has an excellent reggae groove. Definitely relevant especially in reference to the quartet not triplet hi-hat thing I talked about!
