Yes, I agree. Aks me who sings the latest Bond song, and I draw a blank. And 50 years later, it will be the same answer. Simon and McCartney and Shirley did the 3 best. And I was reminded about Sheena Easton’s sultry 007 contribution. My mistake!!
@@stevec9102 i'd suggest duran duran's view to a kill as number 4 and of the recent ones adele's skyfall was pretty good, but the last two were completely forgettable.
I love, love that her daughter Sally is one of the backup singers. She looks absolutely ecstatic to be on stage with her Mom. Love also that Sally points right at Carly as she sings "you're the best." This was a great concert.
@@ronalddaub9740 You're welcome! I just now realized that the conductor is none other than her long time producer Richard Perry, who produced the No Secrets album as well as "Moonlight Serenade"
Carly Simon's Birthday is June 25, 1943. So when she was performing on the Queen Mary 2 in 2018 she was 73 years old at the time. She has aged incredibly well. Definitely the best
Bravo Carly, always brings tears to my eyes thinking of Sir Roger Moore, i believe this song was played at his funeral in Monaco. What a glorious combination to behold, Roger with his fabulous looks and wonderful voice, the great songwriting and music, the movies when they were movies and of course you Carly, nobody sings it like you. My favourite Bond Song ever.
He was a great ambassador for the Bond brand, a gentleman/ funny guy off screen. Pierce also good ambassador, unlike some lemon faces who shall remain nameless. Roger penned 007 Diaries ..a reprint of behind the scenes of Live and Let Die. David Hedison wrote the intro...says that Roger was his best friend. Recommend it highly ⭐⭐⭐⭐
@@nataliaoleksander6386 Wolf Gang doesn't have a good grasp on the English language, apparently either a Trumpster or someone for who English is not their primary language. What he meant, would seem to be an insult to Carly Simon's appearance, from someone who doesn't show his face in his multiple RU-vid videos.
Still, you can tell her voice is starting to fade, as she gets older. This isn't the Carly of Central park, '71, or Martha's Vineyard. But then, no one else ever was, either.
@@d.e.b.b5788 WHat I heard here is not a voice strating to fade. I heard the voice of a transexual man who's still trying to sound like a woman. It can only be obvious if you know that many famous stars are secretly transexual from a very young age and taking hormones.
Love this music always bring me back In time ...which is sad at times but beautiful at the same time...I had a great life, just wish I could go back and do it again...
Carly Simon I love your music! Nobody does it better than you! Pure magic and you share it so magnificently. I love you! You are brilliant and your music fills me with such great joy and touches unfathomable depths. Thank you, Thank you Thank you! Soulful magical music. XXXXXXXXX
I have so much admiration for this woman, who dares to love and aspires to be the best. When I heard her iconic You're so vain' again, I felt so overwhelmed with her talents, her mesmerising voice and witty lyrics. Just an amazing and superb artist!!!
Carly is just fabulous. That song was written by Marvin Hamlisch and he has been gone for several years now. So has tenor player Michael Brecker. It’s great to see her daughter singing with her too. Just a string of feel good music videos.
Nobody else can sing this. I've heard some others try, but a big part of the musicality of this song is Carly's vocal quality ... you need the original instrument on this one!
Best Bond Movie & Song Ever .... RIP Roger ... Best Bond Also...movie had the Best Villain & Car ....those new BMW`s dont have shit on the old Bond Cars...lol
This is a james bond theme song you know ,so by that what your saying is You think of your husband as a womanising ,gambling, alcoholic killer ? That's not very nice is it ? 😂
Had such a huge crush on Carly when I was a teenager! Still do! Her voice is so amazing! In my top 2 James Bond Themes! Go back and forth between this and Live and Let Die!
Carly Sos el himno de mí corazón , en mí vida siempre llevaré esta canción como la más hermosa de mí vida !! Sos lo mejor en tu género!! Te quiero ❤️ mucho!! Amo tus temas!!
Watching a (then 60 year old, now 75) woman sing a 40+ year old iconic Bond song in 2020. Does it give me the 'goosebumps'? Hell yeah! Absolutely legendary performance by a classy lady. Carly, you're right...Nobody does it better! Al x
OMG! I bought the soundtrack back then. I searched forever to find an official extended version. I never wanted the last part to end. Her high and low notes. Then found this performance. I never expected the most awesome arrangement performance breakdown. The singers were awesome. Carly was seemed to be having so much fun up there. Again, was there ever an extended version with this thoughtful breakdown or just extended? Thanks so much!
Carly has such a warm persona, she is fun and really gave the best, the crowd just went wild and one can feel the vibes on the floor and all around, what a treasure are you!
Cruise ships are one the great balances of the female music industry, your one the way up, stalled, or on the way down. As great as Carly WAS. She hasn’t had a hit for over 25 years, so pedals her old wares to the people who can afford cruises on the Queen Mary, who were in her era, pays the rent I suppose. Here in the the UK, we make programmes featuring Jayne Mc Donald, who is a pro cruise ship doll, but chart wise could not sing her way out of a wet paper bag. She’s even managed to branch out into other outlets, more shiny dresses than Shirley Bassey🤣
