miss this fella 😞 while the newer larger ships are certainly beautiful, smaller ships like inspiration hold a special place in my heart. sucks that most of the fantasy class got scrapped
I met a girl and 2 weeks later took her on a cruise on the Inspiration. We got married later and 20 years later we are still happily married! Inspiration will always be important to us. We even remember we were in Cabin R1! Nobody is going to mention the blown out distorted audio??! Yikes! LOVED the video (even with the audio) and so glad someone transfered the old VHS promotional video to get it on RU-vid.
I went on the Inspiration in September of 1996. She was brand new that year... Had a blast on there. Hard to believe that was 25 years ago and now she's met her end.......... 😞
First Carnival Cruise was on the Inspiration. I sailed her 6 times. Another 5 times on her sister ship, Imagination. Both being scrapped, so sad. Just about the right size: Big enough to have a lot of amenities, but not so big it was a hassled to do anything.
carnival sensation, carnival ecstasy, carnival elation and carnival paradise are not scrapped.🥺😭😢Carnival fantasy, carnival inspiration and carnival imagination are scrapped only carnival fascination is century harmony
Update: Sensation is being scrapped now. Ecstasy is leaving the fleet. If you want to experience one of these amazing fantasy class ships, I'd recommend doing it sooner rather than later.
I was on the inspiration twice, it was a fun ship. What made it different was the services. Back then you got 24/7 room service, nightly turn down service, 24/7 pizza and ice cream, a midnight buffet, all the food was included (only extra charge was alcohol), there were live bands and lounge singers, and staff ratio was like 7 to 1. These days everything is an up charge and they play around with the prices. Back then you paid one price and you paid tips directly to the staff. Cruising today is still fun, the ships today are much larger and have more balcony rooms.
November 2005 I took my second ever cruise on Inspiration. I took my first on Fantasy just a year prior. I had my 12th birthday on Inspiration. This November I hit the big 30 and it's crazy to realize I discovered Inspiration more than half a lifetime ago. This video brings back a lot of memories for me. I remember being so fascinated with the purple figures in Brasserie Lido. It's been a few years but I still can't believe Inspiration is gone forever.
25 years ago in August. First ever cruise is on the Inspiration. Forgot who the Cruise Director was at the time, but I think it was Pagano who was the Captain. Unforgettable. I will miss that ship. May she Rest In Peace/Pieces.
