Can’t wait to see this beautiful ship in person. After 5 cancellations that began in November 2019, we will be sailing a back to back in May of 2022. Thanks for the tour!!
My wife and I just booked tonight for an April 2022 cruise!! We're both looking forward to The Ultimate Playground! 😁 Also, I like to visit the casino while on my cruises (so does she, but not as much as I do), but I have a hard time with all the cigarette smoke. THANK YOU for being the only tour (so far) that has mentioned that part of the casino is non-smoking!! I'm gonna spend more time (and money 😅) than I probably should in that non-smoking section of the casino!
Thanks for watching Steven! My wife is VERY sensitive to the smoke and she had no issues at all over in the table and slot area on the starboard side that I went through first in the video. There is also another little slot area that is kind of tucked away right next to the Limelight lounge that should have ZERO smoke because it is SO far away from the smoking section. Obviously, once you get near the Casino bar things will change but I think they did a good job laying this out...
@@thecruiseworld I am so excited. And my mom used to smoke when I was a kid, which has caused me to hate it so much in my adulthood. She has since quit, but it really makes my eyes watery whenever I'm around it.
Great video!! I'm on MARDI GRAS mid-September so I'll probably watch this video 20 more times to help me learn how to navigate such a different layout on such a huge ship! Thanks!
@@thecruiseworld Actually since you offered...another RU-vidr mentioned that if you had the "early set dining" you couldn't go to the other food options like ChiBang until after 8pm...did you hear that as well? May need to change to Your Time Dining if that is true as we want to try out as many food offerings as we can!!
@@kathymills1959 I am not sure about the 8pm thing, but I do know that they said you wouldn't be able to book through the Hub app if you didn't have MyTime Dining. SO, we did move our 6pm to My Time because we wanted to try all the different options to. And I knew we wouldn't be in the MDR that much. So, my advice would be to switch it... Sorry it was so long winded...
Great video - very thorough tour of all the fabulous neighborhoods! What I liked most about your video is that it was clear - you took enough time to capture the venues so that everything stayed in focus. So many vloggers are moving too hastily, resulting in a poor viewing experience. Thanks for the content!
Thanks so much for the kind words! I know that when my family is ready for a cruise or looking to book, we enjoy seeing the ship, so I try to think about that when I do the tour. Qe have many more planned! Thanks for watching!!!
Best tour with nice music, detailed information on the decks. Great voice tone on all 18 decks. We have been waiting for this since 3/2019! Booked for 11/2021.
I was on the Mardi Gras, you will love the ship and the size of it.I had a great time and i hope to back on it. a week is not enough to explore the ship entirely
Lol, if you could pull that off Ibwould be impressed! I think 2 weeks is needed to fully experience all the food, venues and activities Mardi Gras has to offer.
Wow amazing video some part of looked like you were gliding on the floor. I can't wait to step into this ship. I love the ending with you and Steph at the aft of the ship. FANTASTIC
Mary Ann this ship IS amazing and even better, you will have the most amazing Cruise Director, Lee Mason on your sailing! If you have any questions shoot us an email and tell Lee we say hello!
Thank you for the fabulous tour, we will see it in person sept 18th, can’t wait! 56 years young and can’t wait for the fun to begin😜on the coaster and rope course.
Wow.! This is amazing. I just Subscribed. You can fit a small Town on the Cruise. What happens if a person can not get the Covid-19 shot as I am allergic and I can't get a flu shot. Good question. Can you still go on the Cruise. Thank You for the wonderful tour. I am on my 6th week with Shingles and starting to get better but very painful. Have a fantastic day. Stay safe. Cheers.!
Hey there Sir Robert, we are glad you found the channel! And yes, this literally is a floating city! Right now, all the lines have slightly different policies, but they are following CDC guidelines under the Conditional Sailing Order. For a "fully vaccinated" cruise, 95% of the passengers must be vaccinated. So there are room for exemptions for younger children and folks such as yourself. Hopefully things can get back to normal sooner rather than later. Cheers!
Great video guys! Just subscribed! We sailed back in November and have already booked again, thanks for helping us hold ourselves over until we sail again in September!
Another excellent tour Mark. Carnival should be paying you for the videos. Can’t wait to cruise on the Mardi Gras! Oh I saw you in a video of a ship tour that harr travel has. You walked by the camera I think near the big chicken food place lol.
@@sherismith513 Some is done on a gimbal and others are just a slow steady hand... I have been shooting video since the 80's and have some steady hands, but the gimbals help a lot too!
looks very different from previous ships. they really changed a lot of the areas and their locations. it looks like a very fancy nice ship. does it cost more for the new ship versus older ships in the fleet? what's the max limit for the guest rooms? does an adult have to split rooms to cover under age passengers if you have a larger group that maxes the room capacity?
Thanks for watching! Yes this ship, which is the first of Carnivals LNG powered Excel class ships is much bigger and features a very different layout from other ships. She is truly beautiful! As far as prices go, they are usually very comparable to other ships. There are also many different types of staterooms and suites to accommodate different sized families. Here is a link for more info on that: www.carnival.com/cruise-ships/mardi-gras/staterooms.aspx#suites
We are scheduled to go to the Carnival Mardi Gras on Feb.2022. I Hope the mask thing is gone by then. We have already cancelled 2 cruises because of the mask, health reasons per Dr.
Technically, the ship doesn't "weigh in" at 180,000 gross tons, since gross tonnage is a measure of volume, not weight. Some seafarers way back decided to use the word "tonnage" as a volume measurement just to confuse us landlubbers.
We've never been on a cruise and would like to go on one. What ship do you guys recommend for a first cruise ever? We have 2 adults and a 13 year old. Also do you have any tips or tricks you can share? Any responses would be greatly appreciated!
Hey Cory, I think any ship from Carnival, Royal or Norwegian would be great for you as a first time cruiser! The also will all have teen groups for your 13 year old. Of course, some of the newer ships will have more fun things to do, especially for the teen, like ropes courses, water slides, mini golf, even rock climbing walls, surf simulators, zip lines, go karts or a roller coaster! If you have any more specific questions, feel free to shoot me an email and I'd be happy to help you find something great!
Good question! Decks 7 & 8 are sort of like a promenade--the whole deck is filled with things to do, see, eat & drink... you can check out the deck plans here: www.carnival.com/~/media/Images/Ships/MD/DeckPlans/mardi-gras-deck-plan-pdf This ship is pretty sweet!
Hey Dennis, thanks for watching. It had been awhile since we were on Mardi Gras, but then it was around 2k for the week and 500 to 600 for a day. I assume it has gone up a bit...
Hey there, thanks for watching! That is the EXCEL AFT CORNER SUITE 10495 -- check out this video for the tour: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TbmKlQ0qXb4.html
As loyal Carnival customer base on my own experience I will said Overall the quality of the Carnival cruise has dropped drastically, from food, health protocols during the pandemic, service, and cleanliness, sanitizing, all are far from expectations. For the example they only clean up our room 1 time/day when we ask Carnival Crew they said because the covid we only clean up 1 time/day, for me thats not make sense the more we clean up our room the more clean our room. I try their Roller coaster to much technical problem, during the time i am ride thier roller coaster the engine is stop and I stuck in the ride 3 times and i am freaking out, they give me full refund $15 cost but still thats not good at all its happened to other customers. Even though these are the newest ships, Carnival Mardigras are all far below average compared to Royal Caribbean, Norwegian and Celebrity. For me no more Carnival at this moment
Hey Pearl Horse, thanks for watching... I am sorry you feel this way. I can't say that I haven't seen a slight decline in some of the areas you mention, but I have also seen improvement since the restart. The room cleaning, yeah, I don't get that...
Why the heck would anyone pay for a fitness class on a cruise ship? 😂 you’re on vacation! Eat lots and have fun! Worry about fitness when you get home lol. geez 🙄
This isnt cruising . This is Blackpool on the high seas for people of reduced circumstances . Lets not compare actual cruising with dodgems on the top decks or the roller coaster at sea . Lets not compare self service caffs with Silver service of QE2 , nor the quiet refined dining experience of formal dressware whilst sitting at the actual Queens table in the Caronia grill on QE2 . No , my friends , if you have unruly fractious bored kids and want cheap thrills whilst scoffing your calory laden burger This floating house of fun is for you . On the other hand if you are a captain of industry or a well heeled elegant lady and want the best that ocean travel can offer , its best to wait till QE2 is returned to service but this cheap low brow floating fairground waltzer is not for you
First of all, thanks for watching, Jonathan, but Carnival calls these the FUN ships for a reason... and what I saw was a few thousand people having FUN! To each their own, and if you prefer quiet refined dining experience of formal dress wear whilst sitting at the actual Queens table in the Caronia grill on QE2, then by golly I hope you do that! But, were you expecting something else when you clicked on a tour of the FLAGSHIP for the FUN cruising company? The BIGGEST cruise line in the world, I might add. They must be doing something right.
Jonathan - Please tell me you are not serious. If so, thank goodness you won't be sailing Carnival. I would much prefer to be on a FUN SHIP with people that don't take life too seriously!
