Funny about no night stand! Weird. I would use the stool under the vanity. I'll be on the Paradise in an OV in about a month. Glad I watched! Hope you guys are doing well.
Hey Guys! So very happy that you are vlogging the Paradise! Fantasy class was my very first in 1996 and remains my favorite class of Carnival ship. And we absolutely love watching your wonderful vlogs!! We noticed you many times on the vlogger's cruise and wanted so much to meet you, but you were always in conversation with others, and we didn't want to intrude. We watch a lot of cruise content, and you are definitely in our top 3. We also have a small little channel that we are in the process of switching over to more cruise content (still working on that) called Fun For Thought with just under 1300 subscribers. We really like the way that you have formatted your vlogging style and we may borrow some of your ideas. We will formally ask before doing so though. Thanks again for this vlog and aways being true to yourselves...it is definitely noticed and appreciated. Until we meet again...True fans, Shane and Fernando
Fun review… When I hear carnival paradise, I think of my sons wedding in 2003… they went on the paradise on their honeymoon because it was smoke-free back then. My son is very allergic to cigarette smoke so it was perfect for them… I really enjoy the dinner videos that you have been doing… Thank you🚢😋
I keep on remembering, sushi every day around 5 o’clock free for everyone, and pizza was on the top floor, near pools. But there were opened till the wee hours of the morning! I remember my kids , nephews and nieces, and they would eat pizza and compete to see who had more trays in front of them, trays were metal!
Many years ago, a bunch of travel agents and myself did ship inspections and Paradise was one of them. Kinda fun to see her still in her glory today. Great vlog as always! 💙
Good morning! We were on it in 2001, it was out of Miami, non smoking, it had no balconies, we all had port holes, there were 42 family member, we celebrated my dad’s 80th. We had a great time.
So cool to see the other Fantasy class ship! So much like the Elation! Saw Epic Rock when we were on the Elation and it certainly lived up to the name, truly epically GREAT!
The Sweet Caroline stuff is hilarious. It's like Hotel California when I visit Thailand; it's like an unofficial anthem and I swear I was in a bar my last trip and the band played it 3x within 2 hours! Also, love the food talk. I hope uou don't really get a lot of criticism for it. I love hearing about meals I may want to try that aren't things that are common.
That boat with all the flags is used for Gasparilla. A pirate invasion festival where pirates invade Tampa and steal the keys to town hall and take over the city. It's quite fun. Happens every year in February.
Who doesn’t like watching the dinner part of the video? I love yals food segments cuz of course we all r gonna eat onboard. This way we can c & hear for ourselves if that is wat we wanna try. I’d rather have less of the shows since we can’t c the whole story anyway.
Great video as always!!! Need to get a pair of the foldable sewing scissors, I have mine in my jewelry case, so far no issues... I enjoy the older ships more than those big amusement parks at sea...
The ship you saw leaving port is the Gasparilla Pirate Ship. Gasparilla is a event held in Tampa in late January to February, every year, before the Florida State Fair begins. You can check out info on line. The other thing is you are also passing man made Davis Island and I believe also Madill AFB on the starboard side. Hope you were outside when the Ship passed under the magnificent Skyway Bridge, over Tampa Bay, connecting Pinellas and Manatee countries before you get into the Gulf...hope you had a pleasant trip. Come and visit beautiful Tampa. I sailed the Paradise 7 years ago for my 75th Birthday celebration. You're going to my favorite place...have a great time.
I was on Paradise twice, the first time was way back when it was the very first Non-Smoking ship, if you look at the back of the ship, you will see the No-Smoking symbol that they painted over. Have fun.
I love the dinner reviews. Who are the ppl that don't like to view them....I assume they're the reason you have to specify, "if you don't want the dinner stuff...end the video now." Lol
There is a charm and warmth to some of the older Carnival ships that I like. Looks like a fun cruise ahead! Our Bemini stop was canceled due to wind on the Carnival Glory, so I'm anxious to see what we missed. 😀
In 2003 I sailed on Paradise out of Miami for a 7 night Eastern Caribbean cruise. It was her first year, I believe. It was a completely non-smoking ship at that time. I stayed in Cabin R128. It was a birthday celebration cruise with Frankie Manning who was one of the first Lindy Hoppers and loved cruising. A huge group of Swing Dance students and teachers joined him (I was a student) and a couple of other legends, too, one of whom was Dawn Hampton.
utoh, ty for the warning about scissors....I have an ostomy bag and MUST USE scissors to cut the wafer to fit...they are medical scissors about an inch and a half, curved and BLUNT TIPPED, so they are probably fine, but I will contact the port and make sure...
I am jonesing for a Blue Iguana breakfast burrito! Counting down 57 days until I can get one! :) Also the only thing I could think of with that Rudi's thing is that that sounds like something someone would demand OBC from John Heald for! 🤣
I will always pay the extra money to park at the ports. Nothing like getting off the boat and getting loaded up right away. Don’t have to wait on any transportation to take us offsite. It’s so much more convenient.
I was glad that your Salmon was over cooked. We had Salmon on the Spirit once that sent us to the Medical clinic with food poisoning. Not fun so rather over cooked than under. By the way we get of the Carnival Venezia the day you step on it. I am so sad because I would have loved to meet you 🥰
So the scissors thing is specifically in Tampa? I crochet and bring yarn and stuff with me on long cruises, and I usually have a small rounded pair of "kindergarten scissors" with me. If I have to I can cut yarn with nail clippers in a pinch. (See what I did there?)
The only port we’ve heard it strictly enforced has been Tampa, and some folks have said Charleston. But Carnival’s website has been updated to state no scissors at all without prior approval, which was news to us!! :P
WELCOME TO TAMPA!!! I hope you have enjoyed our city. I have been on many cruises but not the Paradise. Too old for me. We just go to Orlando or Miami. your video does make me curious though
Thanks for the heads up on the scissors. I hide ducks, and assembling them involves cutting the ribbon to length. I've put a note in my trip app to leave the shears behind and be sure to pre-cut those ribbons before traveling. I would have been unhappy to lose the shears.
I love Carnival....a lot, but my last cruise in August you couldn't go anywhere without the smell of weed.....everywhere, every day. Even saw a guy light up a bowl in the atrium!!! (Security did put an end to that) Like Dee said, she can't bring crafting scissors, but apparently weed is ok. I hate to sound like a prude, but it was bad. Never had that on my prior Carnival cruises. We are trying MSC Meraviglia next year, so we'll see.
I’m a knitter and have small folding tsa approved scissors from the craft section at Walmart. They were always good for air travel even when there were more restrictions. Wonder if they’d get through?!
What should you do if you’re smelling that funky cigarette smell in your cabin? Report it or just spray and ignore it? I’ve never experienced that on a cruise, but would like to know your thoughts. Thanks!!
We were fortunate to have done 32 cruises in 2022, which was 200 days at sea... a crazy number! We won't have quite that many this year, but it might be close!! :D
We live near this port at Madeira Beach and cruised out of there many times. And every time they think we have mini scissors in our luggage. One time they took everything out of my wife’s carryon and scanned everything one at a time because this guy really believed he saw some the first time. So after 15 minutes and others getting involved the head guy told them they were wrong . I of course had to say every time we come here you guy think that and it’s getting old . So we get I’m sorry for the inconvenience sir.
RU-vid Auditors... I would much rather hear the rhetoric of Parodeejay, than any song or mainstream bumper music that happens to poison the watering hole of this stream. I am here to enjoy them, not any song I can stream!
This is a low budget ship, not much money allocated for food and entertainment. After being on newer ships this one really looks aged and not very clean.
I just could not abide someone smoking pot on a cruise ship. It’s just plain rude to have that smell waffting down the hall to other cabins. At least get security to make sure it doesn’t happen again because it probably will multiple times a day. That’s just low rent and would not spend my money to be stuck for 5 days around that smell.
