Great to see Aussie content. We are cruising for the first time on splendor later in the year with teenagers. Good to hear an Aussie perspective as it is incredibly different from American perspectives!!
Thank you for watching! I’m glad you found it helpful. They are spoiled for choice over there so I feel their perspective could be quite different. I’m sure the teens will love it. Especially on longer cruises, they usually find a group of friends to hang out with. There really is something for everyone on Carnival ships.
My partner and I are going on our first cruise and first ever international trip to New Zealand on Carnival Splendour in February and your video is so helpful! Thank you for a fantastic and informative video!!
Oh how exciting! I’m sure you will quickly learn to love her as much as we do even with her quirky decor. 🤪 Thank you for watching! Feel free to check out my vlogs on her too!
My partner and I and our daughter are going on our first cruise on the 4th of July on the splendor' we can't wait your video has been very informative thank you very much.
Love this review! So detailed. We travelled on the Splendor last August and will be on her again this October as well. As a Melbournian I am completely guttered by the lack of ships coming into Station Pier so I do hope CLIA can help our government work through that issue. I would rather pay the extra taxes at a local port than pay for extra accomodation, flights etc going to sail out of another port. Great content! Thankyou! :D
Thank you for watching and I’m glad you found it informative. Yeah we met with some other Melbourne cruise content creators and discussed it today. It’s really very dire down here. I’m hoping something changes soon because for us sometimes getting there costs as much as the cruise. Are you cruising mid October? We might see you there? Thanks for watching.
You are on the one after ours. Your cruise will be amazing! I just did a video that includes some of your ports. This was filmed last year just as family memories before I had plans to vlog so there are a few bits I wish I had filmed. The third part of the vlog which includes Santo is coming next weekend. I’m actually jealous of your itinerary. Ours was changed from South Pacific to QLD.
@@CruiseCrazedFam Everybody on our sailing seems to be really ecstatic by our new itinery change. I am really excited to visit Santo and Vila! The northern Australia trip still looks incrediable although I'm sure not what you were expecting you'll have a blast regardless! Hoping to do that trip on a future sailing myself. :D
Hi, Great informative video, can you advise on how you pay for drinks etc on carnival splendor. Is it like P and O cruise ships, register a credit card and drinks etc are charged to your cabin?? Can you use cash at bars? Going on splendor in September and would just like a heads up...thanks.
Hi David, thank you for watching. It is the same thing, everything is all paid through you card called a sail and sign card. Check out my first Carnival Cruise video, I explain the process on there. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IaKuyLao0Sg.htmlsi=ls6Az8sD8SnqXXjG I’m sure you will have an amazing cruise.
Thank you so much for sharing this, it's been a real eye opener for me as I'm doing my first ever international cruise with Splendor next May. I live near Hobart Tasmania, and some days during the cruise season we get 3 cruise ships at once, it's full on down here. Some days only 1, some 2, but I've seen 3 cruise ships docked at the Ports in Hobart. I found it interesting that you mention the allergies, last year we went on the Pacific Adventure and I was under the impression that I was lactose intolerant, so I found that there was barely anything available for me to eat, and dessert most days was just tapioca or very inedible cakes. Learned recently that I may not be intolerant so I'm looking forward to seeing what I can and can't have next year
Thank you for watching! I could imagine a relatively small port/town like Hobart would feel bombarded with multiple ships there at a time. It’s good to hear that you feel you can have lactose again. It is always harder when you are restricted to what you can eat and frustrating when they don’t seem to understand your requirements. I’m keen to see how it goes for us in October. I’ll make sure I do a good review on the Splendor this time around, especially with the new food options available.
@@CruiseCrazedFam I honestly cannot wait to see your review of the Splendor in October, especially considering the upcoming changes. I'm excited as well cos our cruise is slowly creeping closer and hubby and I are so excited.
@@Jazzles77 aww thank you! I can’t wait to bring it to you! I have a lot of content I want to create on this next cruise but excited for our holiday as a whole! I bet you are, the closer it gets, the more exciting it gets!
Such a great video - thank you!! A question around allergies, we have booked set dining so we don't have to go through the whole list every night, you mentioned the Dr Seuss Breakfast - were they able to prepare allergy free options for that ? I'll need to watch your other videos to find out about the pancake incident!!
Thank you for watching! Yes, they can cater for allergies at the Dr suess breakfast. Silly me edited out the pancake incident. Basically first time we went they catered to our allergies well and still made the effort to ‘jazz up’ the food to theme. Second time they bought us rubber-like gluten free bread and pancakes. They were gross. My son had a meltdown about it…. Wasn’t fun. But, you have done the right thing, fixed time so you have the same waiter. Each night you will pre-order dinner and breakfast and generally they cater pretty well, it’s just hit and miss depending on who’s working. My last cruise was on the Luminosa and I had no issues. I also like to make sure I call or email so they know in advance too.
you will need to do a new review on splendor after the next voyage as currently she is in Singapore in dry dock for maintenance and getting some internal stuff done as well
Thanks for watching. That’s great to hear. Come to think of it, I was on Luminosa in March and they were pretty good with my allergies. I don’t remember having any issues on there with the food, in fact I really enjoyed the food. Might be harder for you at the buffet since most of the food will be high sodium. When you go to the buffet, look for the stand that says ‘menu mate’ and they’ll help you out.
Yes, they will be in March 2025. I have done some videos on this too. When the relaunched after the pandemic, only one of the P&O ships got fitted with slides but they both have been now.
Thanks for watching! I have no experience with that myself but I know they can cater to your dietary requirements. I find it always best to notify the cruise line in advance of our dietary requirements so that they can be prepared and aware when we board. Hope this helps.
Thanks for watching. At this stage, apart from the weeks of dry dock for changes in March and the cancellation of Pacific Explorer, the itineraries are unchanged. Carnival and P&O generally do similar itineraries anyway.
Thanks for watching! Honestly, it’s great fun for all but plenty to keep the kids entertained for sure. I have sailed with Carnival without kids twice and had so much fun… but adult fun. 🍸💃🏻 Either way they are great.🛳️
Thank you for watching. I believe the green slide on the Carnival Spirit was the Green Thunder. Splendor’s is Green Lightning. Not sure if this has always been the name but currently it is.
I don’t think they have announced that yet. So far all I know is the new blue paint job to match the rest of the fleet and general maintenance. I’m keen to see what changes are made too.
