Great review of the Ultra cruise! I totally agree about the drinks in the casino. Also missed so much on this cruise because we were running to the casino for drawings, but never got drawn. I am trying an Elite in June. Free drinks everywhere will be nice.

@@CruisingWithDee Alaska cruise on the Miracle in June. I have a premiere booked for next year. I would like to find an Ultra for next summer - my husband and I both have offers so it might be worth another try. I have so many booked I can't keep them organized. Big Elite in February from Sydney Australia! Hope you get an Elite next time around, I really think they are the best.

I understand they are very similar except that the Premier cruise does not have the ULTRA (or similar) prize drawing. I also don’t think there are door magnets, but let me know since you’ll be going this month and my first Premier cruise is in February.
Thanks for talking about this. I must ask though, I have some friends (Late 20s) who cruise with carnival frequently and spend lots of time in the casino. They told me they went to Alaska for 100 dollars cruise fare per person in a balcony stateroom! They still had to pay port fees and everything else, but the fare was only 100 dollars per person!?! Have you seen anything like this? I was flabbergasted!
Yes, Carnival has all sorts of casino offers like this (although somewhat fewer now than right after the pandemic). Generally my $100 per person offers are for interior rooms although I’ve had balcony offers on various cruises as well. Alaska for $100 is incredible! A great deal of this depends (obviously) on how much you gamble, but no one knows exactly how Carnival figures out who to give which offers to.

Really enjoyed the review. I received my first Ultra invitation and did not know what it was about. So you are saying all those invited will win at least $300 or gift equivalent, if you are pesent at the time? I was looking to see what cruise dates were available out of Galveston. Due to your blog. I am going to try the Ultra cruise. I like you, but on my first cruise, I didn't know anything about a players club until someone came to me and told me I would be getting free drinks the rest of my cruise, while playing in the casino. Yes! If you attend the Ultra Drawing at the time the casino schedules for you, you will get a prize (or free play) worth a minimum of $300! I hope you find the Ultra fun; I definitely did, and am trying to find time in my schedule to do another one! LOL it’s crazy how the Casino pulls you in, but I’m not complaining, I’ve enjoyed my time on Carnival and in their casino!
I JUST GOT an invite for an ultra but i have to wait till the 21st of March to book..so good video i will get $200 fun play so can i get more thru the drawing? and do you get priority boarding? i dont care about priority disembarking i wait till the last minute to get off? are you guaranteed to win something at the ultra draw? And how many would you say are ultra cruisers..just curious I am looking at the celebration for next year..
I just got the same offer-via email with a countdown! I totally want to book another one and hope it works out with my schedule! Yes, the $200 free play is independent of the drawing $$. I do believe it is priority debarkation only, not embarkation.
Only sailed on the Jubilee once in April 2024 and got an Elite cruise offer right away. Looking forward to the drinks on us everywhere. This video was super helpful. Great pacing, great background video clips

What a great video! Very informative without being too wordy. We're taking an Ultra cruise that starts this Saturday. You mentioned that the ULTRA drawing is only for the person who received the offer. Are the other drawings and games only for the person who received the offer as well or do they include our guests? My wife would not be happy joining me at the drawings if her name doesn't have a chance to come up.
Very good question, and I had intended to cover it in the video. What I was told is once your spouse or significant other gets 100 points in the casino, they are eligible for the other drawings and games. However, we never saw his name go by on the spinner, and we are not sure we were told correctly. What I would do since we feel we may have been mistaken, is to ask the casino host the first day what the rules are for your wife. Have a GREAT time, and thank you!

cant decide if i should take a premier cruise free balcony room or ultra cruise free interior room. thoughts? also premier is drinks everywhere while the ultra is only in the casino.
What did you decide? Personally, I’d value the balcony room and the $$ saved on free drinks everywhere more than the ULTRA gift which is likely to be worth $300-$400, but that depends on how you feel about interior rooms and how much you drink!

Enjoy your first Carnival cruise! I’ve always thought the cruise comps are very generous compared to land based casinos; I’m eager to see what you think after the cruise! Hope you get an Ultra and some other great offers after the cruise. Usually, you’ll get an offer at the end of the cruise, and another one right after the cruise via email; there is usually a deadline to book, but if you can’t book any of those, other offers will come via email.
I got started by getting a free cruise through a lical casino. We went on 4 cruises last year. Ive booked 4 this year . Will be platinum after may and just got my first ultra offer and we havent been on a premiere cyuise yet.
Nice re getting the free cruise through local casino gambling! I just booked a Premiere cruise (I prefer Ultra BUT it was already a cruise I wanted to take to go with friends, next year, on the Celebration again!) AND I just got an email that Ultra cruise offers are on the way! It really is a fun program for cruising gamblers, and you can’t beat the casinos on the Excel class ships! Congrats on being Platinum in May; I just turned Platinum last cruise!

I was on my first cruise with my sister and she went into the Casino and I played some of the slot machines and they were fun. I gambled on my first cruise with carnival last April... Between cruise cost and gambling spent a total of like $1,500.. Believe i ended with like 8k points... Since that got a premier offer ...suite, 1,000 fp, and doue.. then went again in december and in january with ocean view and interior offers both with 1000 FP and doue and havent had to come out of pocket any extra money on any of them and have gotten comped dinners on all of them!Have 3 more booked these next 3 months with the next one starting tomoro! Its addicting! Lol My problem is im gunna run out of vacation time lol
Wow if you spent a total of $1,500 on cruise AND gambling and ended up with 8K points, that is amazing! Your offers have been great from that. I don’t do as well as you (never had a fantastic win streak) but, like you, its hard to find enough time to cruise, especially since I cruise other lines as well. Very addicting. I’m already preparing my speech to my hubby as to why I need to go on one of the Ultra cruises Carnival is offering this coming week 😂.

Book it and tell em the week before 🤣 and yeah i was not expecting to get the offers ive gotten..but hey ima take advantage of em while i can! And i also got the ultra invite...which lead me to this video! Ok so I just got off the Mardi Gras ultra 1/13/24. I’m a little upset we didn’t get the door plaque. It was my 10th cruise so it was memorabilia for me. Also no chocolate strawberries like you all had. It was too many inconsistencies. My GF had an ultra. We both got the tumbler but only 1 wireless charger per room. Pretty head scratching.
We were actually looking for the door plaque when we got on the ship; we got it I think 2 days in, and much smaller than the prior door plaques that Ultra cruises had. Also, we only received one of the wall chargers, but 2 of the tumblers as you did (if I said we got 2 chargers in the video, I mispoke). Did you get any treats besides the cookies in the room?

I’m going on a premier cruise soon I heard that’s how it starts she got to go to Premier cruise first and then you get offered ultra and so on I don’t know if it’s true or not but I’m going on my first premier one
Premier Cruises are lots of fun too! You’ll get lots of the same games like Matilda the Cash Cow that was on the Ultra cruise! I’m on Jubilee right now which is a Premier Cruise, although I’m here on a different offer. Just FYI I had not been on a Premier cruise yet when I got my Ultra offer.
