practice lip slurs for hours each day. i did that and now i can effortlessly flip to those high notes. the feeling of accomplishment after you finally can do it constantly makes every minute you spend on lip slurs worth it
So i was in the car with my sister last night and I was listening to this exact song, the pentatonix version of carol of the bells and I literally said I wanted to hear a trombone choir play this. Welp
Wow, loved this performance. Your intonation as a group spot on and it seems like the lead players (especially the gentleman in the salmon button-up) don't use any pressure at all to play the 5th octave notes, particularly the Eb5! Kudos to you guys!
You're very good and this song is just wonderful. My choir sang it using a new arrangement and a spectacular video. Write this in the search: you will surely like it. Corale Novarmonia - Carol of the bells (M. Leontovich)
Wow. I know this song can sometimes seem like a "throw-away" song to a performer, but we (the audience) love it! Such an excellent performance! Very moving, to me. What amazing musicians you are!
Als Posaunist und Sänger und Fan von A Capella und von Posaunenensembles das beste, was ich bekommen kann. Auch ich wenn Pentatonix gar nicht so gut finde, ihr Carol of the Bells ist großartig und hier fast noch besser
@@kirstenstew4143 :) good question!:) we use every day a lubricant on the slide, slide-o-mix or yamaha:) and of course practice, practice and much more practice!:)
I love trombone ensembles...this is no exception! Three comments: 1) One player didn't get the memo about un-tucked shirts; 2) It takes 30 seconds to get to the main melody, 3) More cowbell! (err...I mean, percussion!) ;-)
Wonderful job guys from a life long Tuba and Bass Trombone player. Hope you keep bringing more of you wonderful music. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us and Merry Christmas.

I think the volume for the percussion is fine, but the quality is not the best. It shouldn't overwhelm the trombones obviously but it does not sound crisp
Erik Payton it does acknowledge that it’s a Pentatonix cover in the video from about 0:19 to 0:24. I would have appreciated that in the title or description, since this is nearly a note-for-note transcription of their arrangement.
soundofmaggots yeah, but the arrangement of carol of the bells was done by pentatonix. This ensemble just adapted it for trombones instead. So the arrangement credits go to ptx I’m pretty sure
