This was a great interview, Carol certainly echoes my thoughts and views. I really admire her speaking out on issues of great concern and her ability to deal with the trolls. Carry on the good work,we need voices like hers

The misogyny; outrageous how it's normalised, especially on social media. I'm glad she's not staying quiet and using her voice. There's too much noise from men's voices and opinions, not enough women being heard.

Oli is such a great interviewer, and Carol is an absolute inspiration. So glad we live in a world where we can watch this for free!

I’ve lived in France for the past 22 years and watched in ever increasing horror the demise of a once-respected country. If you’ve not bought “Now What” already I highly recommend it. I received my copy last Friday and I am thoroughly enjoying it (when I can grab it back from my husband who’s also enjoying it!). Well considered, well researched, well written ~ it’s clear Carol has written every single word herself as I can hear her voice as I read 👏👏👏👏

Carol, I am of your generation, and I think you are great! I appreciate the commitment to truth and accountability in life and politics. I love the fact that you can ignore the trolls, and parse thru the dogma of personal politics. Misogyny and Misandry exist. The trick is to find the middle ground, and realise we are all human, none of us are perfect, and we are all contradictory entities. Stuff happens..smile

Totally agree on your education views Carol. The point you made on the access to universities we had in 1970 and 80s is the way it should be. Rather than the pre war model we seem to have come back to.

I agree with the comments regarding the media bubble and having disgraced politicians on and treating them with deference. I have never understood how Nigel Farage obtained the huge amount of coverage over the last ten years when he was essentially a nobody. He was treated as a leader of a major political party although he wasn't even an MP and his party has been boosted as a result.

An excellent interview, all power to Carol in her quest to challenge the Westminster Bubble, they really don't care about the people that put them there and it's about time they were taught a lesson. Great channel :-)

Really striking a chord for me Carol. I was born on the same day and brought up just down the road from you. I also lived in poverty but benefited from the education system - even ending up at Uni and eventually with a degree and 2. Masters. I cant imagine making the leap from there to what I have worked in if i had to start now. We were both lucky! Btw I worked with your sister!

I would love to talk and help carol. I joined the TA in the 90’s. I was called lumpy jumper and split arse. I got slapped on the arse often but I dug my stilettos in and became the first woman to do my things. I fought for women’s rights in the army. I had to prove myself everyday. I was the Detachment Commander of light gun, the same one as at Edinburgh castle. In fact I was the first woman to fire it in 2006. 😁👊🏼. But the misogyny I took was unbelievable I just didn’t read it. We should chat about. 👏👏👏👏. I’ve two granddaughters and their future terrifies me 😢. I can shout and am from the west of Scotland and like carol I love banter lol x

It was interesting the ex politicians made a very personal attack based on nothing but rubbishing Carol. When I have read these sour grapes stories it shows them up not her. There is no age limit to starting a political career. Freedom of speech (if that still exists) entitles Carol as much as any one else to put forward her views, agree with them or not, but never stop her. I will be following her agenda more closely in the future because I stumbled on this pod cast by accident. Thank you.

Slightly younger than Carol but I was told I could only be a shop or factory worker, or office work. We were not told, or encouraged to look further because we were poor. This was in the south east, so I think we were even more discriminated against because we were poor in an affluent area.

It starts with her intelligence and her emotional intelligence, then the fact that she has a profound understanding about reality and where so many people come from....derived from her own personal history. She's a wonderful person. and a brilliant political advocate!!! P.S I admit that I fancy her and find her incredibly beautiful, but that is both enhanced and made entirely irrelevant by her intelligence and her wonderful articulation,and support of so many humane policies - by her ability to use mathematics and logic - to apply a decent humanitarian outlook. I find her ideologically agreeable. That's what matters.

It’s sad that an intelligent person (who happens to be female) is reduced to being infamous for her appearance. In this case her bum. If she were a male it wouldn’t be so. I’m glad she is setting a great standard. I’m usually cautious when famous people get involved with politics given the examples we have had lately ie Trump, Musk. The line between politicians and celebrities has blurred, look at farage, look at recent Tory ministers and PMs who have had bigger careers after being fired due to writing books, appearing on tv ‘news programs’

Huw Edwards’s contract was as an employee of the BBC. That is why they did not sack him Immediately and Huw Edwards knew it. There were legal procedures to be followed by the Corporation. Not sure if Carol Vorderman had the same contract or was a freelancer. Freelancers like, Jermaine Jenas, can be sacked quickly without legal penalty.

Carol does a great job of pointing the corruption out. The Starmer thing about the OAPs im hoping it won't effect most and it is actually leverage to tax the wealthiest

Excellent interview. Such a shame the bloated, out of touch, unaccountable, badly run BBC cast her adrift while continuing to pay Edwards massive sums despite knowing he was facing serious charges. All Carol did was have a pop at some Tories. My God! How dare she! I would argue that she needs to 'reduce her bandwith' and focus on just a few topics at a time. I was getting indigestion as she railed against injustices all over the shop.

Great interview and love Carol. Please don’t paint the whole of the south east and London as being rich and poverty free. London and the south east has its fair share of deprivation and hardship. Some of the most deprived areas of Britain exist 100m from some of the richest areas of the world. The daily struggles these poor people face are just as real as people in other parts of Britain and often get overlooked because of their location. Believe it or not the pavements are not paved with gold in the south east.

Why isn't she Lady Vorderman, it goes against all my base principles ie abolish the Lord's, end the monarchy in government & public payouts BUT, she is an acceptance in my book.

I genuinely believe Carol Vorderman should be given an EXEPTIONAL "GONG" soon, for services to joy and empowerment! This woman is a treasure, and exemplifies what it means to be BRITISH! Polite to everyone,, UNTIL YOU OFFEND HER SENSIBILITES! ....and then, "may your gods protect you"! Carol is my ideal woman, and this has nothing (well, maybe a smidge?) sexual to do with it! Her objectivity could be argued to be mildly left of centre, but SO FAR she has hit every target she has aimed her barbed intellect at! I would love to discuss "oven ready" policies and a potential "constitutional reform" with her over dinner, but I seriously expect it would take many months of "dinners" to find the wrinkles and iron them out, Ms Vorderman's contact list might prove her most lethal weapon/useful tool? I am a late diagnosed Asperger's SURVIVOR, but 3D methods of problem solving (I think it's called "joining the dots"?), and philosophical approach to life, has garnered many compliments but little recognition. Weak and ineffectual political contacts have reduced my confidence in "getting anything done", but I am a positive person, TRYING to hang onto "hope"! I LOVE "geopolitics", and have recently read Peter Zeihan's latest book. ("The End of the World is Just the Beginning") It frustrates me though, when an author is objective enough to identify the problems (I've probably already seen?) but refuses to postulate any alternatives or solutions! I would love to "assemble" a group of intellectual superheroes, sit them down, and CREATE a document, ....almost a bible, of how to run a country, on "humanist principles"! ...and as a model, we RESCUE" the UK, and fortify it to weather the RAPIDLY APPROACHING STORMS! Once we have survived those "storms", we show the remaining GLOBAL survivors how we did it! Alas, this is just a faint hope now, but my COMPULSION" to solve problems continues! ....and my ADMIRATION for Vorders has yet to be dinted! "Give 'em what for girl"!
