This is a very beautiful piece of music that I have heard since childhood. My father used to play it on the fiddle with his friends in Irish pubs back in the day. You don’t have the selection of venues anymore
I've been a devotee of Carolans music for decades and I have never enjoyed it more than hearing these wonderful renditions. Thank you very much for brightening these difficult times.
I play in a group called Slemish, we're mostly from county Antrim. We just recently finished recording a CD. We play a version of 'O'Carolans Welcome' on it.
Many thanks for showing your videos i'm learning slowly as play along with you. Thank God i can slow it down and try and figure out how you play it. Thanks again keep going
Thanks a lot Mr. Hansen. I'm discovering O'Carolans universe through your wonderful videos. I'm a newcomer to this magic music and try to play with you with my guitars, bouzouki or ukulele. And practising too, trying to guess the harmonize chords you play.
David ~ Thank you ~ over ther last few years I have learned so many wonderful tunes from your site. I have loved Carolans Concerto so much, I have asked my wife to have it played at my funeral ( assuming that I die first!) ;- )
fantastic. I was wondering why this octave mandolin sounded so beautiful [apart from the playing which was great too] and then read the comment above about it being a Sobell thanks for this I have it bookmarked and try to replicate your playing.
