I was singing this song when my youngest sister married 30 years ago and again when I bring my daughter to the altar in december 2023. Most lovely part are the last 2 minuten adding there thanks to eachother. ❤
Man, must have been pretty special to see this concert live! How can you not love these two. Honest, god given talent. And we have all been so lucky to enjoy their ever lasting music.
I just love the smile on Carol Kings face when she sings with James. People don't know that she was was really shy when younger. James Taylor coaxed her onto the stage. Otherwise she might be just a songwriter and not the beautiful performer she is.
I love this song. I picked up a little insight from Wikipedia that I want to pass along: You've Got a Friend" was written by Carole King during the January 1971 recording sessions for her own album Tapestry, and James Taylor's album Mud Slide Slim. King has stated that "the song was as close to pure inspiration as I've ever experienced. The song wrote itself. It was written by something outside myself, through me." According to Taylor, King told him that the song was a response to a line in Taylor's earlier song "Fire and Rain" that "I’ve seen lonely times when I could not find a friend." Wow - sometimes music is PFM - pure magic!
Eddie Broda keeping searching RU-vid now. Just saw a little longer cut of this same video and he talks about how Carole gave him the song to release first. Funny and touching.
I loved finally they got to dance together please marry each other. You are the answer for the problem in the US. Give them their life PLEASE Mrs Taylor you got to let go of him. I did the same thing. I gave up on my husband. I just wanted him to be happy.
How I wish that my best friend were still alive! I will ask to send this to him no matter where his soul is at this time. Miss you more than words can. Thank you for everything you did for me while we were given the time. ❤❤
found the broadcast of the show on TV a couple of years ago - was totally captivated, always loved Carole King, but the way the two interacted was amazing!!
Splendida canzone ottimamente interpretata. 🙂🙂🙂
It was, I may have not been at the Troubadour. It was the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut in the round at the Troubadour, it's a concert that stayed with you forever. The tickets first row my birthday is not expected from a high roller dear friend that is no longer with us today. Love you Tommy and Donna.
Assistindo em 01/09/23 e me lembrando dos acampamentos na Praia Costa Azul em Rio das Ostras. Amava ver e ouvir os meninos tocando violão e cantando está música maravilhosa.
Quality broadcast via PBS. I saw them each (separately) in concert in Philadelphia, PA. That was great. This does my heart twice as good. Thanks DJOGGET!
The best interpretation of this song is of Carole King herself. Don’t like James‘s interpretation at all, no feeling and expression, lucking the intensity and power Carole has.
@@KevinHirst664 Maybe. Being professional classical musician for 35 years and songwriter myself maybe not enough to match your opinion for which I am sorry. Yet, I still don‘t like anybody better than Carole King interpreting this song that she wrote. It’s her best song, just superb.
No feeling or expression from James F-ing Taylor??????????? An absolutely ridiculous comment. You can like Carole's version better but that is a bullshit shot at JT.
