@@theunbalancedcharge2077 honestly. I only started getting into dci recently and I wish I knew about it earlier so I could’ve hear some shows in person
I first got interested dci in 2017 and this was on my playlist of shows that I would watch near weekly. Coming back from marching Troopers 2021 and this show is just… wow. I can feel the talent, dedication, and perseverance in this audio recording. HLD >''
I took got hooked on Carolina Crown. They are the calibur all corps should strive to achieve. Blue Devils, Bluecoats, Santa Clara Vanguard are good also, but there's something about Carolina Crown that amazes me both in Brass, Showmanship and difficulty in show. Top achievers.
Absolutely great!! I'm glad that someone was able to put out something DCI-related that actually had good quality. Some others still have good quality, but everything good involving this show (my second favorite DCI show) has been taken down (my favorite show has got to be Mad World (Cavaliers 2010) btw). Thanks for a great upload.
While I do understand why the ending was changed, I really prefer this closer musically over the new one. Superb show nonetheless and still is one of my favorites from crown
Have commented on this before, but could not AGREE WITH YOU MORE. I recall all the chatter that summer on Drum Corps Planet, and the Pulse Night Club tragedy was the last straw: a rewrite was inevitable. Still, this was THE version that delivered an epic finale. Dunno if anything was gonna unseat "DSU" in '16, but this [musical] ending was meant for Indy.
@@jspiker9914 I can see why you thought it was finals. The quality of the recording (and most importantly the quality for the 2016 Brass line) was top notch best all season. But the ending during finals was different. Some people disagree which ending was better overall. But musically the ending was perfect and beautiful durring finals.
@@cjlorenz3498 the Mercy Ending (“Hallelujah”) was a great finals touch, but I personally like the early season Vengeance Ending. Made the whole season a great story line.
If I could guess from the crowd response, my best guess as to which show this is from would be the one held in conjunction with the Music for All Summer Symposium in Muncie, IN. I was fortunate enough to perform at the 2014 show there with the Colts, and the enthusiasm the kids there have for all the corps that perform there is second to none
Idk I feel like it was the right year for them to win. The bluecoats 2 previous years where absolutely phenomenal and a whole new style of dci. I feel as if they completely deserved the win and worked the hardest that year, but that doesn’t mean that this show wasn’t wonderful :) I do believe this show was over devils 16 however. The writing and brass was just so much better that year.
Anybody know if there is somewhere I can find the show written for wood winds too? My band is a class double a and I'm coming up to be our best trombone and I'm willing to do anything to play this my senior year. We almost did Sheherazade this year but we decided to hold off since the props were too far to pickup
usually stuff like impressive drills/features, this show was ridiculous start to finish, and some color guard solos too in quiet sections. also carolina is known for crazy brass so everyone was just hyped lol
