Carolina Crown’s 2023 Drumline lot. This video was taken June 17th, during Carolina Crown’s CrownLIVE event at Gardner Webb University. If you comment making unnecessary critiques, you will be roasted.
no offense to past crown drumlines, but I am unbelievably happy that they have the staff they do now. these guys are gonna kill it, and they're so close to where I live!
I'd change this to: If I had $10,000 dollars for every Filipino bro on this perc staff, I'd have $30,000 lol 😂.Because afterall, $30,000 is much more money lol 🤣😂.
Man, that one tenor is marking time like he's pissed off at the ground! :-) In all seriousness, I'm not a drummer but I freaking love what I'm hearing this year!
I AM LOVIGN BIG HOMIE ON TENORS!!!!!! His VIBE & intensity is giving me LIFE!!!!!! Reminds me of me when i marched in college!!! I carried that SAME ENERGY!!!! #REPfortheBigMen 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
It's like Mike listened to the last 5-ish years of Crown drums and took the style into account when writing this book. Suoer unique and fresh but still feels like Crown. I love it.
Really? It’s cool writing but it sounds like Mike. The most I could see is that the way the wind book is arranged might lead to some similar choices, but stylistically I just hear mj
The warm-up packet truly is a tour through the years of Mike Jackson, I love seeing some of the classics brought back along with some of his newer exercises. Really excited to see what this line does this year, I’m a fan.
@@_weix Ain't that the truth! 😅😅 I have fell victim to that a MANY a times! But I do try my best to keep each group sounding different as much as possible.
@@marklower007 lol yeah they are but that specific measure that they played the eighth notes with the left hand sixteenth note in-between them are from the warm up called “cold hands” that they also play at the beginning of the video 01:32 . It was just cool for me to see the warm up exercise being interpreted in the show cuz thats what they are originally meant for. Hope that helps🙏
@@zachandrory123 well the writing staff is from Broken City out in California in the WGI circuit. Totally different style of writing compared to the GMU guys from last year.
@@tim.noonan I was half joking, that said. People said the same about BD and Yamaha back in 1998, they switched to Dynasty. Phantom and Pearl, SCV and Pearl. To be fair to your point, the aforementioned I don't believe had a Yamaha brass endorsement.
@@jeffe_77 crown will probably stay on yamahas for the time being at least it seems. Looks likes Mike jackson loves to use yamahas and i don’t blame him he’s the one guy who can make them sound good lol but BCP switched to tama’s because of rodger which makes sense because he’s endorsed by them and bluecoats just switched to tamas this season
Skirts? Just asking. Does anyone know? Nice drumming and love the sound of the Yamahas. Always a crisp and articulate offering from the snares. Very musical throughout. Always thought Crown could win with the right drum staff, Maybe this is it. Horns are always in the top 2 or 3. Thanks for sharing.
@@crwnguy Okay. When they turned around they looked like they were wearing a mini skirt from the 60's. Thanks for clearing that up. I'm apparently not up on my medieval fashion sense. 😀
Pretty bold statement as it's not like you can pull up any vids if BC not playing those exercises flawless. But at the same time its expected. Indoor is a weekend activity rehearsal wise. Dci get to play everyday all day. Of course you gonna be cleaner
