The no one is preventing you from watching this channel, ice shows or ice dance exclusively. 🙃 If « artistry », whatever that means, is the only aspect that matters for you, let’s just remove the sport from the Olympics ? (And then let’s rob the discipline from the only audience window it has). Everyone has different tastes, let’s just accept it please.

Yes, you're right, there should be all kinds of skating to suit different tastes, but let's also acknowledge that the focus is increasingly more on technical achievements and the pressure on young skaters is getting stronger, definitely not in their best interest. I even heard somewhere the term "disposable" to refer to competitive female skaters today: make them jump as much as possible as long as they're young, only to get them replaced by younger girls as soon as they get injured and they hit adulthood. 🤷‍♀️ I find this quite sad.

I find this quite sad." except that you're mixing everything up. First, getting replaced, as an athlete, is the natural cycle in a sport. And the turnover is even faster in federations with a lot of skaters (Russia of course, but also Japan, and maybe Korea). When you're in line with a lot of fellow skaters for a single spot at international competitions, of course you're gonna develop harder elements like 3A and quads. If you don't, others will. It's simple as it is. Secondly, you can't attribute an injury and the early retiring of an athlete to quads. To this day, ZERO figure skaters who ever jumped quads on a regular basis is retired yet (because of it, at least). And I don't even talk about all the skaters who just decide to retire because they're bored and who want to do something else with their lives. Take for example Sasha and Anna : they would maybe still be competing (with or without quads- I'll come to this) if they weren't banned. But you have to keep in mind that he human body is not suited for high level sports (said by Cedric Doumbé, a MMA fighter). You're gonna suffer injuries sooner or later. Every athlete goes through this at some point. But what if you compete in a federation where hundreds of skaters as talented as you are waiting in line behind you ? Losing your only international spot is very easy then. So as as soon as possible, you have to develop a stronger jump arsenal if you want a chance to compete at the highest international level. And countries (not skaters) aren't equal regarding that (quotas). Besides, you'll have more chances to compete late if you start learning quads/difficult jumps at a young age. If you start in your late teens or after, you will more likely get injured or in the best case never (or almost never) land any of them (look at Rion, Amber, as brave as they are for just attempting them, in a world where skaters stopped looking for an important aspect of a competitive sport, risk). All of this to say that you have to compare apples to apples. Staying competitive in Russia is not the same deal as staying competitive in let's say Belgium. The amount of skaters and thus the domestic level, isn't the same at all. If you want to see less quads, ask dear ISU to loosen (the best would be abolish) the strict quotas for big federations, and maybe you'll find it less "jump packed" and more "artistic", even though, again, this is purely subjective and up to each person and skater preferences. In the end, ISU is the only responsible. For example, you complain about the pressure in junior, but ask yourself the right questions : who are the persons who just implemented a rule that doesn't allow skaters to go in senior before 17 (and thus packing and saturating the competition in junior) ?

@@lilyc2820 Thanks. I'm a skater (at my own level of course, I'm not competing internationally). But if you look for purely artistic competition, I know there are some solo dance comps here and there. Don't know yet if it's gonna be developped internationally in the future though.

​@@pavlakellerova9751вы правы,Каролина прекрасна,высокая элегантная,в ее программах нет цыганщины,как у туктамышевой,повторить то что делает на льду Каролина ,Лиза не сможет,просто у нее другие данные,рост фигура,руки,лицо,,да и ростом туктамышева ,не большого,,,нет их сравнивать нельзя разве что ,только по возрасту?Так и здесь Каролина выглядит лучше,,,но каждому поклоннику нравится своя фигуристка❤

@@user-rw2vu8jj5l samozřejmě. Děkuji. Když je krasobruslařka vysoká, má dlouhé paže i nohy, stačí, když jen: tančí. Nemusí dělat ctyřkolky a pětikolky a všechny obtížné piruety od Denise Bielmann. Nesleduji extraligu bruslení. Naopak. Všude na západě jsou soutěže: dospělých bruslařů. Tedy těch, kteří s tímto sportem začali po 18 roce. Nebo ženy 50+ . Jednoznačně mezi nimi kraluje Kristine Struthwolf-Leato. Žena: 38 let. Už má děti. Ale vyjede s tou nádhernou postavou, dlouhé paže i nohy, kostým i hudba vždy ladí s programem. Jen dvojité skoky, ale perfektní 👍. Soutěž dospělých má mnoho kategorií: Ti, kteří už v dětství bruslili, pro těžký úraz přestali, a jako dospělí se k tomuto sportu vrátili. Ti, kteří začali bez trenérů po 18. Starší 50 let. Dokonce i kategorie váhová.. Je to opravdu úchvatné!👌👍 Mají své soutěže národní a poté mistrovství v Oberstdorfu. Žádná závist, žádná rivalita mezi týmy, sponzory, kluby, žádné malé holčičky. Ty mají také kategorii, ale mezi ŽENY smí po 18. roce.! Jako v občanském životě. Žena jsi po 18.! Odpadá pláč, hysterie, rozmazaná mascara, útoky, léky. Porota? Lidé. Publikum 🤷. Všichni. A tam odpadají bariéry, kdo ze které země pochází. TO je úkol sportu a soutěžení. Ne podplacená a zmanipulovaná porota. To je krásné bruslení, ne figurové bruslení! Samozřejmě, že i šampionky, které díky Rusku a USA nikdy uspět nemohly. Ty mají zcela zvláštní kategorii. Úžasný nápad to je. Skvělý a bezkonkurenční!!! Zdravím ❤️

@@user-rw2vu8jj5l všechny ruské děti jsou malé. 149, 159 cm... našla jsem na Google. S takovouto "výškou" se stačí odrazit na necelý metr nad led, a musí se 4x otočit!! S výškou Caroliny se musí figurantka odrazit na 1,5 metru, aby stačila 4 otočky čistě provést. Proto si trenéři vybírají maličké děti. TO byl rozdíl v Soči i v Pchjongjangu. Děti versus dámy: Yuna Kim, Karolina, Mao Asada 🤷.. Nezlobte se. Až dokážou soutěžit na špičkové elegantní úrovni ještě ve věku 28, 31.. respekt 👌👍.

Она далеко не девочка. И сравнивать ее с нашими молоденькими не надо. Она до 30 лет соревновалась. И делала прыжки и др. сложные элементы. А у нас теперь двадцатилетние считают себя пенсионерками.

какие там девочки, о них никто в 30 лет и не вспомнит, они к 20 годам уже разваливаются
