After we finished playing at ‘Trafo' in Jena in April, Robert asked if we wanted to quickly record a live version of one of our songs before packing down our gear. ‘Trafo’ is an old powerstation which is now used for shows and exhibitions. One half is a sort of lecture theatre and the other half (where we played) is where they used to keep the generators. It's a unique space with this strange glass wall dividing the two halves, and a glass booth in the middle. We decided to record a version of ‘𝑰𝑾𝑹’ as the song had felt good to play that night. We cut Robert’s footage with offcuts from the original '𝑰𝑾𝑹' music video that we released last year as well as other footage taken on tour in the UK and EU this Spring. We hope you enjoy it.
I had the chance to see Caroline in Lisbon this year. It was a live experience unlike anything else I've seen recently. They are also something of an anti-band, considering the stage setup and a lack of a front-person. The music is essentially and deeply human, right in front of us - yet it is completely out of this world, out of reach, and ephemeral. A magic moment was created and it felt like surreal to be a part of it, within their circular setup, watching every eye contact and musical queue happen in real time. This video really captures these feelings.
