roxxxtar74 The log flume and oaken bucket were my favorite rides. I also liked the sky buckets and monorail too. I was disappointed when they stopped using shuttle buses which would take visitors to the front entrance from the parking lot.
Thank you for this. I am writing a book about the 2nd generation of amusement rides and could not, for the life of me, remember Carowinds' enterprise's original name. Now I remember. Thanks a million.
No mention of all the original Train rides or the Gold Rusher Roller coaster which has survived several decades of changes. The fact it out lasted Thunder Road is amazing, and not how you would have placed bets. A lot of sadness for rides removed that could have been kept. There was plenty of real estate around the park up into the 2000's that was undeveloped countryside.
Bondi Beach was apart of Boomerang Bay which was also the name of the waterpark. Summer 2016 the waterpark is currently being rebuilt and named Carolina Harbor. So excited cant wait to go next month! Been going to Carowinds all my life!
Yeah It Was Double housed The speed way cars Should be brought Back Where vortex is cause majority people don't know how to properly ride Vortex so The Bottom vortex load station was filled In
Carowinds made an stupid mistake when they stopped using those courtesy shuttle buses. They were inside and outside the park. When you arrived at the park, the shuttle buses in the parking lot would take you to the front entrance. Does anyone remember that?
Can anyone help me out with a name of a dark ride Carowinds had in the early 90s. It was a long hall where you sat down and the shows begins. It was pirate themed and the room would feel like it's spinning around you.
ColeM Geometry Dash you must have missed them, both are in the video. Thunder Road opened in 1976 and ran for 39 years, closing in 2015. Nighthawk opened in 2004 as BORG Assimilator (2004 - 2007.) The name was changed to Nighthawk when Cedar Point bought Carowinds from Paramount. Interesting fact not in this video. Nighthawk started out as Stealth at California's Great America. It was Vekoma's first flying dutchman coaster.
