After visiting this idyllic , small, secluded, Staffordshire pool, I decided to return with a light carp set up and fish from late afternoon into dark.
Weirdly, I knew exactly where this was as soon as the video started ! 😁 I fished it a couple of years ago, caught loads of small roach and perch on float & maggots, then hooked and lost a decent carp that looked like a koi carp, aout 6lb ! Quite a lot of snags and dodgy landing stages, but a lovely & tranquil pond which I wil fish again soon.
Hi mate. You've just summed it up in a few sentences, the thing that stuck out for me is when you mentioned the dodgy landing stages, somebody will deffo end up very wet soon 😃 What a beautiful little pool though eh. Tight lines pal Steve
I used to look after this pool with my uncles and the the other bailiffs what a water I caught some nice carp to there’s some really big once to I caught a lot of them they are all really old fish and are very wise to u what a water just hope the club finally sort of after all this time can’t wait to see it agin
Hi mate i enjoyed the video a real stunning little pool that a real wild and middle of nowhere feel to it thats my kind of fishing mate quiet and peacefull but like u said at the start the carp know u are there very quicky on these types of venues im sure u will bank one mate cheers and tightlines
Cheers Alastair It really is a stunning place it's 1 of those where the local villagers try to keep it under the radar and I can completely understand why. Even some club members will try to convince others that there aren't any Carp in there in order to keep it exclusive which is why it's always a good idea to have a look for ourselves when trying to locate our favourite fish. I'll definitely be going back there fairly soon the fish in there are never going to break any records but it's not always about that for me. All the best and tight lines 👍🏻 Steve
@@BivvyLife sadly steve its now a sign of the times that hidden gems like this must be shrouded in mystery and secrecy for their own protection as sadly not every angler treats a lake with the respect or the fish the care that they require cheers mate looking forward to part two tightlines
The water is having bait going in but mainly maggots and pellets. I'll be pre-baiting with boilies but will switch to maggots on a ring if push comes to shove. Cheers Steve
I’m pretty sure I know this pool, only been there the once about 15 years ago. The stages looked very dodgy then, I thought they might collapse. Nice pool though, caught a good mixture of species.
