Thanks a lot man, as you can see all I did was take cues from the song title, the all-around mood and the original scene structure. I'm just happy it turned out just how I pictured it when I first heard the song.
So incredibly well suited and well edited! Deeply atmospheric retro aesthetic and feeling to this. It's so satisfying as well to look up the anime itself and realise that the opening song that the woman is singing in this video has lyrics about a metaphorical hurricane!
Thank you so much for your comment, you have no idea how much it makes me happy to know that years down the road someone actually noticed my intentional wordplay between the titles of the two songs I picked for this project. Bubblegum Crisis has been one of my favorite 1980s anime series for years now, and "Konya wa Hurricane" is a song very dear to me; a great deal because of its presentation during this entire opening sequence, which I consider absolutely flawless. Meanwhile, Carpenter Brut is still one of my favorite musicians from the last decade, and this album in particular had a big impact on me when it first came out. This song isn't even one of the biggest hits, but for me it always stood out. Being able to pursue and capture a common theme between these two things dear to me in a single project is no doubt one of the highlights in this channel's history ever since I started it, and I think that speaks a great deal to how much everyone that comes here enjoys this video so much; including me, who still get a jolt from rewatching it to this day.
No worries on my part, more people will get to see it eventually. Thanks for the kind words though, I love Bubblegum Crisis, do give it a shot sometime.
Don't mention it, thank you for your kind words as well! This is still one of my favorite videos, even years later. Still remember how much fun I had doing it.
This is a superbly edited AMV, fits even while knowing the original music vid that Carpenter Brut made. The timing of your edits matches the song perfectly 👌👌👌👌👌
i already commented but damn the song is so good and the vid is so well done, i keep coming back to enjoy it - amazing job... if there ever was an example for 'anime then vs now', this should be used for the then
Glad to know you still like the video so much, I try to plan these projects as stuff people can watch several times over and still enjoy like they did the first time. I also like rewatching this one from time to time, no doubt one of my favorite songs by Carpenter Brut, not to mention Bubblegum Crisis is a timeless classic.
