@Tha Real Mccoy oh it wasnt for you it was because every normie says they have nostalgia for a time period they weren't in in every synthwave video. Oh and the racist thing is because my username is a reference to mac tonight/saint pepsi, but sadly some people twisted it into a hate sign and a mascot of racism
Brut, I really think this is THE best you've ever put yourself to. Roller Mobster and Le Perv are waaaay up there, but I honestly don't know how you top this. Starts with an incredible back alley far east sounding melody, then goes into a electro hiphop style, then comes in a fucking lovely sax, and then just gets progressive as fuck and EXPLODES with a key change and it just lasts fooooorever, and you tie it back around to the original melody. Truly beautiful. Superb instrumentation (steel drums!). Superb pacing. Incredibly fun for listeners, musicians, and the whole family. Marry me.
Carpenter Brut No buddy, thank you! I'm a sucker for great instrumentation and progressive music. I love - hearing - you make this song, if that makes sense. Lol.
+Yigi Liu I wouldn't mind a present day Vice City either. Maybe get to play as the son of Tommy Vercetti or maybe play a multi-role like in GTA V, where you can switch between a miami vice cop, the son of Tommy, or even old Tommy himself, always trying to keep his son out of doing stupid shit. The future of GTA has amazing potential.
+lulubeloo I would like to play as a female character in a next Gta. I ex member of the russian mafia who is trying to rebuild her life from zero, but get into the life of crime against her will. But if the game becomes a multi-role, like you said, I would like if we play as the woman who is ex member of the russian mafia, a corrupt vice city cop and the the son of Tommy (this last two is because I love your idea).
+RSFArocks i think that would only work if it was the same character but different points in his life. Maybe the 80's as part of the game like his days back in vice city
An important point that was discussed about a possible new Vice City, was that it would show how the financial crisis/collapse or the stock market crash had effected the town after the get rich fast yuppie lifestyle of the 80's.
You cant have a saxophone, steel pans AND my favourite synth arrangement ever at 2:27 and not expect this to become my new favourite song. This whole album does not cease to amaze me
I love this track, I just wish it wouldn't fade out so quickly at the end. Fading out is kind of annoying anyway, but a short fade out that comes out of nowhere - it kills me every time!
after listening to quite a few of Carpenter's songs you can eventually just remember his unique style of music. I came from attack on heavy que "We fight like pootis Very yes" and i knew nearly instantly this was carpenter's music. Your songs are amazing and refreshing, don't change.
Funny to find this song through the same avenue. There was a song in Attack on Heavy that sounded great and I wanted to listen to the full song so I looked at the music list, and although I haven't listened to any Carpenter Brut in a while, I saw the name in the list and I immediately knew that was the song I was looking for.
+Λllan New Wave is a variant of Punk... this is nowhere near new wave. If you want new wave you search The Smashing Pumpkins, REM, Crowded House, Late clash. This is Synthpop I believe.
'80s retrofuturism and synthwave has been present in pop culture since the early 2010s, and hopefully the trend gets more and more popular into the 2020s...
This is the one This is the song that makes Carpenter Brut the best and makes him stand out from everyone. There is no other piece of music that gives such an intense adrenaline rush compared to 2:28 . I don't know what he manages to do with Ableton and akai keyboards, but god damn this makes me wanna sit in front of my PC and synthesizer and try and even come up with synths and beats so much as even a fraction of how good his shit is
I don't understand how you make stuff like this, it's an entire STORY turned into a single track. The track starts off nice and calm, then you throw in the SEXY sax, with a small indian tune, you start building up the track and BOOM it just turns into a fucking action masterpiece
I am in love with this song. I am living in Shadowrun for SNES with that fretless bass... this track is freaking epic. It inspires me. There are enough elements in this one track to create an entire soundtrack. I want to make the film it would fit. Thank you for your work.
I really think this will make you a lot bigger, corridor digital just use it in their recent video GTA in real life and I just cant get enough of this.
Bluestriped I feel like it should have been put in the movie Drive. Something with a Getaway in the 80s! Although that movie has some of the same vibes, especially the intro of the movie.
Complexity of sound types and structure in this track makes for engaging listening. It's never predictable, but it stays well-composed. When the second "section" of the song ended (for which I thought it was a bit too long at first,) it snapped me back out of my trance and made me think for a split-second and brought back the original melody. Very impressionable. Well done, CB.
I have become addicted to this song I tried to find smt close to it but I will never be able to find something close to this. Are there even anything similar?
Probably my all-time favourite Carpenter Brut track. It totally deserves an 80s-inspired music video that takes elements shows like Miami Vice and crosses them over with cyberpunk concepts such as Gibson's Sprawl or, more specifically, Freeside.
I am completely hooked to this song. The way it completely changes and explodes at ~2:00 is awesome. Carpenteer carpenteer, you are tier S in my opinion :D great job!
This song is truly amazing peace of art. Every single note is in right time, in perfect place. It makes me join some kind of colorful trip between parallel universes, galactics and black holes. Fantastic culmination and sweet, peaceful ending! Thank You for this beautiful song!
You know the thing about 'Into the Spider-verse', about how you can pick ANY frame from the entire movie and it will be a god-tier wallpaper? Yeah well this song is the musical equivalent of that.
