The Carpenters were an exceptional group. All the members always put on a great show. Each of them being the best at what they played. But I gotta say, it’s Karen’s voice and delivery that is just so special. Always so loving and genuine. And I love to hear her charisma and sense of humor when she spoke. Although some (including me) may want to judge and blame someone for her tragic ending, but we don’t know. They only know. I can’t imagine how painful and lonely Karen must have felt. I wish we could all just wrap our arms around her and make her feel better. But I do believe if maybe just a few different things were in her life, just maybe, it didn’t have to end the way it did. She’ll always be that sweet, beautiful, gifted Karen Carpenter. Thank you for sharing your gift of music with us!! I’m sure you know now how much you are loved and missed. 💜💜💜

I love the way she sings "We've only just Begun" at the minute 7:50 ... I'm speechless. she gave it more emphasis and even more soul than the original track with this "slower" version, and plus, her vocals sounded amazing when sustaining and holding those beautiful notes... Karen Carpenter was a golden vocalist. Amazing tone and phrasing!

Her voice is just like silken honey...so beautiful and magestic...she knows how to work her vocals to full advantage....

Nobody else can sing WOJB like Karen, you don't hear this song covered that much because no one can blow like KC and don't forget Richard's arrangment. Only Luther Vandross did justice to one of there songs, "Superstar" other than that...... Stevie Wonder did a version of WOJB it was ok but the Carpenters was in a class by themselves. Karen wasn't fat, she just had wide hips and back then White men didn't like that on a White woman but us Brothas love it on ours women. She is beautiful.

Boy, what a difference in her weight from the 1974 concerts to this concert....in only 2 years time....what a shame. She always had those big hips that made her look like she was carrying more weight than she actually was....and unfortunately it was that perception by her that eventually did her in :-(

What ultimately killed her was the use of wight loss supplements to speed up her metabolism. Laxatives and thyroid medicine
