I'm not ashamed to say but I'm in tears here ,what a simply beautiful artist Karen carpenter was and we as mere mortals could look at her with immense admiration for blessing our ears with such music.
Karen Carpenter was and still is the best female vocalist ever. Not saying there aren't great female singers today. But Karen Carpenter is a legend. She is the BEST. Her voice makes you feel the song. RIP Karen, you are still on top. 2022

Unparalleled voice. She must have been under so much pressure, stress, and strain. She accomplished so much in her relative short life. I didn't know her but I'm still grieving over her passing and the way it happened. 😢
Richard's arrangements gave the Carpenter's that magical sound and framed his sister's voice perfectly. He never really got the credit he deserved. He recognized Karen's voice and forced her out front. She only ever wanted to be a drummer but Richard saw where she needed to be.
Thanks to that, he increased her anxiety and self hatred. She could sing, just as well, from behind the drums . Where she felt safe and happy! His controlling, in her musical and private life, and their mother's rejection of Karen (in preference for Richard) triggered the Anorexia Nervosa that killed her. Yea, thanks Richard...
@@jacqueline8559I kind of agree with you about the mother, but Richard made the only possible decision when convincing Karen that she had to be front and center once they became stars. It wasn't going to work with her singing and drumming while performing songs such as this.
Unearthly tone and ability she had to reach deep inside of you and own your heart. All backdropped with the sad story of her leaving us at her young age, in the peak of youth and success !
