In todays video, we take a close look at CarPro Ultracut. CARPRO Ultracut is the heaviest cut compound CARPRO has created yet
Ultracut contains a cocktail of fully diminishing abrasives, which correct heavy defects, while producing minimal haze. Combine it with the CARPRO cutting pads (Wool, Flash, Cool) or Microfiber for extremely effective and efficient defect removal. Drop down to CARPRO Orange Polishing Pad and you can finish down hologram-free.
While Ultracut was designed for rotary use it can be used to amazing effect with Dual Action machines as well! Extremely low dusting and a lubricant that allows the abrasives to be worked for an extended period allows total breakdown of abrasives with less marring and holograms.
CARPRO Ultra Cut....www.amazon.com...
Features:

They do have a great line up, but it’s marketed heavily and mostly for weekend warriors with nice cars that they care about the results on. They do use pharmaceutical grade active ingredients, like ultra clean but CarPro is notoriously a little stingy with active ingredient and they tend to be a little “weak”. Not saying they don’t do the job fantastically, just that they’re overpriced for what they accomplish.

I detail a lot of vehicles. I was using 3D #500 and #520 for two steps but recently switched to the Carpro Essence for the second step as I feel it finishes down to an outstanding finish. I may just start using Clearcut as the step one. I still use 3D One as a one step though with buff & shine euro fiber pads. I also use Sonax Ultimate Cut for heavy defects. Carpro makes great stuff and there are no fillers or silica in their compounds just like other top Professional compounds like 3D and Sonax don't. No one can say they are aimed at weekend warriors, over priced, or have weak ingredients because that is simply not true. Th they are making great compounds and ceramic coatings. Their ceramic coatings are some of the best I have used

Serious question- If CarPro is a diminishing abrasive compound, does making a straight pass skew the results in any way? I’ve never used a diminishing compound, so in my mind I imagine that you’d want to do multiple passes (without adding product) to assess how well it can finish-out. From a cutting standpoint, one pass makes sense to me. Help me out here, as I’m genuinely curious. Appreciate the test.
@Reaper-Jim
@Reaper-Jim 2 года назад
Diminishing abrasive results are generally the same no matter what company uses them in their products. They start off aggressive and become less as you work the polish. I don’t, personally, like diminishing abrasives for cutting because it kind of defeats the purpose of quickly removing scratches. A straight pass, small panels, a 2’ section won’t matter. The polish works the same way. For me, cutting is cutting. There is no need for starting off strong and finishing soft because you’ll never get the finish of a finishing polish … so … for cutting, I’d use cutting polish with no diminishing abrasives. For finishing (or even just paint enhancement) diminishing abrasives makes total sense.
@LucaBonato
@LucaBonato 2 года назад
@@Reaper-Jim I had the same opinion before using ultracut. Before I used 105 or 101. Ultracut will never dust, with the right pad you can use it as a onestep with a DA, with rotary and wool its lubrification is far superior than megs and lest you cut for longer. When cutting, especially on rotary with wool, if you can get a great finish you can skip the medium polish and pass to the finisher. Diminishing abrasives are the way to go... Give it a try
@Reaper-Jim
@Reaper-Jim 2 года назад
@@LucaBonato I wouldn’t have offered my opinion if I had not tried several diminishing abrasive compounds. It’s nothing personal, I just don’t like them for cutting. They’re wonderful for finishing, though. I use Jescar Correcting for 99% of my cutting because I don’t generally see vehicles with more than (equivalent) 1500 grit scratches. Note here that I am NOT saying they don’t work, clearly they do. I’m saying they don’t work for MY process. 😊😊😊

The lack of dusting is incredible!! Anybody that’s buffed a whole car with a dusty compound on a warm day knows how irritating it becomes. It will end up in the seams of EVERYTHING and there have been times I’ve simply washed the car again after paint correction. Waste of time and effort when you COULD BE coating the car. Anyhow, I’m sold and will probably keep a bottle of Ultracut right next to my Sonax Cutmax in the work van. Thanks for showing us the product and what it’s truly capable of Brian! Steam? Most detailers use compressed air to blow out the pads. Usually in a pail with a few inches of water to capture most of the debris. 3D one with euro fibre 50/50 would be a great combo for you to start with.
