Bought the Mercury V and am loving this amp! Tone to die for with an attenuator that doesnt affect your sound! Plain Amazing amp with reverb . Its a hot Marshall with clean tones to die for.
I’ve had this amp for about 2 years, which is the longest period of time I’ve ever kept an amp!!!lol. It does have a wide range of great tones and using your hands and controls on the guitar can be a Swiss Army knife.
The reason it has bottom end with the attenuator is that the power tubes are at 7. The more the power tubes are working, the more bass in the sound. It requires more power to generate the lower frequencies and that comes from the power tubes, which are cranked.
I wish the Series /Parallel and Gain switches could be foot switchable. I would buy this thing in a heartbeat. I need the flexibility of accessing these different tones mid song.
That's one gainy amp if needed , but the blues tones are killer I can tell by the bends he does so well ! I have every great vintage 12ax7 tubes to get some dynamite sounds if it was mine ! The tungsram 12ax7 never has a bad note ever, driven dirty its silky highs sing and lows notes are great too but no fuzzy crunch but solid rock overdrive ! Wish I could afford one !
I LOVE THIS AMP ... Like the marshal 45 plus ... And these great amps ... Like carol ann amps ... and kelley amps surh last but not least ... the mighty kingsley amps ... i also like the Avatar Amps ... )))
Hi Lance, really nice demo of the Mercury V! Up to now I'm minding to sell every amp I've got (Silverface Twin, Classic 30 and Bandit) and get this awesome beast...one to rule 'em all. I would ask few things; do you use a delay in the demo? and eventually what kind? and how react the Mercury with a delay in front in the higher gain setting? the same question for the spring reverb. Thank you so much! :D
Dammit Lance is that some freakin whiskey laden barbecue sauce dripping down and dirty what happens in toneland stays in toneland kinda sounds dancing round here. Freakin sweet your killing my bank account.
Seems like an incredibly versatile studio amp with amazing tones but also seems like it would be tough to access all that flexibility on the fly. Another excellent demo by Lance.
fabrizio peretti unfortunately street price is $2700. i used humbucker music as a baseline as they are a big carr dealer. I really do want these handmade Boutique guys to make their money but for myself, an average paid user, all of their amps are $1,000 too much right across the whole range.
If you wanna dance you gotta pay the piper. These are top end boutique with amazing electronics packed into a small easy to carry package. If you want the best you are going to pay the highest price. Mesa Mark JP or Fender 57 custom Pro-AMP are $2500 and they are not true boutique.
the problem with the carrs they are way over priced and they don't even have an effects send/return on most of them. the mesa triple crown is a way better buy for less money and way more features. I'd also throw in the mark 5 25/35's just to name a couple. The Kingsleys are excellent as well. We are in the golden age of boutique amplifiers and I just can't see paying this kind of money when there are better amps out there with more features. All that said, this amp sounds wonderful no doubt.
Kossofffan yeah you guys get really beat up on the price when they don't change the number and they just put the pound sign in front of it I noticed that happens a lot
