Oh hell nah. As a stylist I think they did a great job with this look. They literally repurposed the old dress and part of the headpiece for her wedding but that wedding gown with her makeup and the bird and the veil on her wedding day was top tier chic darling. Not everything has to be avant garde and outrageous. I personally as a stylist love and prefer classy to outlandish. Look at how ridiculous most fashion couture lines have become. Full lion heads on the sleeve, Mattresses as dresses oof not good This look was good but the look she pulled off for her wedding to be was DIVINE and if it's the same stylist as the show (SATC) her name is Patricia Heaton tyvm. Industry professional and fashionista extraordinaire
@@Maatjuhhhyeah but that's the point. In the original look she wasn't trying to look sweet, she was going for chic in a classy way, the dark lips and liner made her eyes pop and contrasted with the off white and light beige of the gown. It was supposed to be the wedding of the season remember. the look was made to look as classy and luxurious as possible. This look is toned down to accentuate the softness and simple yet extravagant look of the ensemble with the cape. It's shown she's matured but gracefully which I love for Carrie but both looks served their purpose. She ended up getting married in a vintage two piece dress suit which was as simple as they come however expensive. Hence the "extravagant" look she had in the movie.
Can you imagine how jaw dropping and beautiful this scene would've been if we didn't see ALL the freakin' photos leaked and shared before the season started to aired???? 🙄🙄🙄🙄
What about the feather dress she never wore out when she was in Paris because Alex stood her up her first night there because he had to deal with his installations? That dress could have worked.
For a dress like that, you MAKE it work. The cape matches the turquoise in the bird thing she wore on her head, but the gown matches the grey in the middle of the feather. You could easily bring out the grey and find a way to get the cape to emphasize the grey, even if you get a matching grey purse with turquoise, or dye the veil grey to emphasize the grey more. She could have made it work. It's Carrie! :)
The dress is nice but lose that bird! Carrie would have looked great with her free, tousled locks, her hoop earrings or not and "Carrie" chain or gold pretzel necklace with that awesome metallic teal
serilously, who wears a big bird on her head? LOL. if i saw that, even as an adult i would burst out laughing. i wouldnt be able to handle it. b hee hee hee!@@kellywade8275
Not true, Andrew Bolton the chief curator of the Costume Institute decided what the exhibit each year, Anna Wintour the Met Gala Chairman is in charge in shaping the event (incl. guest list) but they don't have a hand on who wears what it's impossible to do
