This song played at my best friend’s funeral. She passed away at 18. When I play this song, I start to ball my eyes out. Remembering all the times we had😭😭😭

I had around 10 children come through my life through foster care, 2 sisters twice. We adopted our first child in 2020, then got out of fostering. In 2021, we found out the 2 sisters went back in, so of course we got back in just to get our girls back in our lives. Got to adopted both back in April 2023.

Such a genuine reaction to an incredibly powerful song. I love Carrie Underwood. She is one of the most talented Vocalists out there. I strongly recommend checking out more of her music! As for this song I agree with you that resiliency is a big part of the message of this song, but also I believe Carrie is speaking about her Faith and her belief that this life is temporary and a stop on the way towards spending eternity with God in Heaven.

This song always gets to me since I'm a Christian I know this is my temporary home and that last part hits hard as I had to watch my mom die of a heart attack when I was 17

I’m adopted and went through many foster homes before I was lucky enough to be adopted. Great song means a lot to my family

Carrie has an amazing voice and seems to be geeat person too. I had to do that with my mom, she had lung cancer. I told her right before that she could move on and my brother and would be ok. She went right after that. There's fun songs of hers and ones that are gut punchers. Well worth going down the rabbit hole.

I lucked out and had a great foster family when I was in first grade (1979). My little brother and I were in a great home, but my older brother and sister didn't have such a great family. Our mom had lost us in a different state than where dad was. At the end of the school year, our dad got us back. I still talk to my foster mother occasionally. She is 99 now.

I lost my dad a couple weeks ago. My kids are from the foster care system. This song hits pretty hard in a couple of ways. I'm sorry for the loss of your grandfather.

I'm sorry about your Grandpa, i lost my Grandpa on November 20,2016 four days before Thanksgiving, i was in his nursing home room with his family when he died , we had his funeral on Thanksgiving eve, he served in the Korean War , he was buried in his Army uniform, i was one of his Paul Bearer, he was 83 .

I'm so sorry about your grandpa. I went through that with my cousin. She drank herself to death. When I went to see her in the hospital I couldn't even recognize her. The worst part was she didn't think she could come to me and tell me something was wrong.

Beautiful song and review. I appreciate your honesty and reflection. My Dad served in WWII and I was with him in his end of life process. His passing cemented my faith in the Lord as he described what was ahead for him (from God’s words to him in this process.) This coupled with my faith and upbringing- I also believe this is our temporary home. It is a beautiful thing to witness the beginnings and endings in life. Thank you for what you do.

As a christain man I tell my wife This isn't my home, my home is heaven this is just my zip code and as long as I have her I can live anywhere where God calls me.And I grew up in the foster care system. Actually it was one of the easiest things I ever had to do. When my sister was in the process of passing, I told her it's ok to let go. She didn't want to be a vegetable in a hospital bed. That is love

I absolutely felt your emotions with this reaction. Your reactions are always heartfelt. Carrie has songs that can bring a tear or a smile. Since holidays are close, I recommend Carrie and John Legend with his original song Hallelujah - I prefer the produced video over the live version.

I agree how it is ,but nothing was harder than losing my 3 month old first born son to SiDS the morning after Christmas.... 3yrs ago and still messed up about it😢

I went through the system, since I was 4 years old. This song is too close to home for me. I went to 7 different schools. Thats what got me get to married when a was only 15 years old.😔I’m just turned 61 years and even going to therapy didn’t help me.
