Hi, Your video very helpful, But I have a question I am renting an apartment, and have the carrier wall unit. When I turn on my unit the vent opens and closes again, and no air comes out can you tell me why what I'm doing wrong.
Speculation based on mine, but if it stops with two dashes on the display it might be multiple splits going to the same outdoor unit on different modes. The same outdoor condenser can't do heat/cold at the same time. Or if they are on Auto Mode sometimes it decides one split is enough and puts the others to sleep, so yeah don't use Auto.
What does it mean "Whatever moisture that is left on the coil, will automatically be reintruduced?" How do we keep it cold but not allow too much moisture? Want to avoid mold
A normal air conditioner after it is satisfied, turns off the outdoor unit and the indoor unit. This allows the water that is condensed on the indoor evaporator coil to drain and leave the house. If the fan is left in high mode and not in Auto, the fan will never turn off after temperature satisfaction and will blow across your evaporator coil, evaporating all of the moisture back into your home causing high humidity and an environment conducive of foreign substance growth.
Unfortunately, this model does not have the easy to clean blower assembly. I recommend calling your Factory Authorized Carrier dealer for servicing the blower assembly on the comfort model
I have this in my airbnb in the state of FL and my guest tend to crank the ac to 62 degrees in the middle of a 90 degree day. Is there a way to lock the the control where the ac will not go below 7o degrees?
Unfortunately, the Carrier Comfort model does not have low or high temperature lockouts. You can lock the remote by simultaneously pressing the + and - buttons at the same time.
I do not recommend the fan being left in the "ON" mode during cooling mode for humidity reasons. If left in the "Auto" mode, the fan will ramp down allowing the water that is on the coil to drain. Otherwise if the fan is always on, this will keep the water from draining as quickly and evaporate back into the room. This is a recommended Florida "rule" since humidity is always high. This may differ depending on your location and climate.
Self Clean Mode Press “Self Clean” to activate or deactivate the self−cleaning function. Under this function, the air conditioner automatically cleans and dries the evaporator. The cleaning cycle takes 30 minutes, after which the unit turns off automatically. Pressing SLC on the middle of the cycle cancels the operation and turn off the unit. This function can be activated only on COOL or DRY mode.
Sounds like the coil and/or the drain pan is dirty and possibly overflowing. Take a shop vac in wet mode and suck the condensation drain where it exits outside to help free up the clog. There is a possibility of improper installation if the indoor high wall bracket was to level and causing the drain to back up.
Every 30 days normally, now if you have pets, high dust location (live on gravel rd), etc...then clean it more often. Clean filter=happy AC and low electric bills
thank you! so do you recommend using the timer on and off setting? or leave unit on all day? i heard if unit turns off when it turns back on it uses more energy then just leaving the unit on at all times? is this true?
I'm trying to learn that too. Watched another video that said to hold the temp button for three seconds but it didn't work for me . Try it tho and let me know If it works e you
