CVs are fundamentally broken since the infamous CV rework. Their gameplay is incompatible with the rest of the game. They are impossible to balance as well, with how things are surface ships just get bullied, but if you start buffing AA or giving accuracy penalties with DFAA, CVs quickly become unplayable and unfun. I believe there is no middle ground, as the lack of interactivity between the surface ships and the CVs mean there is little to no skill involved in any given encounter, making it impossible to give a fair chance at outplaying for any party involved. I won't deny that RTS CVs had issues, but they were, imo, in a much better state and interesting. Could they one shot someone across the map in very specific circumstances? Sure they could, like many BBs can actually. But they had several limitations, such as limited plane reserve, takeoff/landing/servicing timers, overall slower squadrons, and the inability to keep continuous pressure on someone like current CVs do. DFAA had purpose, AA builds actually worked, and they were not as frustrating because of how slower the pace of CV gameplay was. In current day CV, if you're not striking 24/7 you get bored very quickly. I could go on for so much longer but WoWs has proven too many times to be a lost cause :(

Agreed I hated the rework it's very boring to play cv now there is 0 depth, cvs are historically broken against surface ship so it's not easy to balance (same with subs), But old cv was def better in terms of fun and balance.

You could balance them pretty ez imho... just limit the Distance/time the Planes are able to fly arround... like 1,5min or 2 Min so the carrier has to get closer at some point.

Bro there is no balancing carriers... they are just as powerfull irl.... no wonder entire task forces are built around them...

Thank you for bringing up the playerbase factor, I agree cv are pretty game breaking as the rest of the community but most of the playerbase just whine without learning any counterplay

Those torpedoes hit Encounter literally 4 seconds after you dropped them into the water. Encounter has rudder shift time of 14 seconds and turning circle of about 800 meters. So no, there was very little he could do to avoid being hit. Which is why he didn't even bother to try.

imo they could make carrier balanced if they reworked them so you just control the ship and drop planes like depth charges or gouden

Mechanically, I prefer carriers to subs. I think cv’s need a damage nerf across the board and mini map only spotting. If they did that, they would be a pretty balanced class. Subs need to just go. As a BB player against a sub, you just have to run and hope you can get an island between you.

As carrier user as well i would said CV and hybrid are strong​ against​ lone ship like flanker but get torn to shred if ppl stayed in group​ I want more dept to the gameplay​ like controllable fighter so i could cover my team, or be abke to change attitube of my plane like high ceiling have slow speed cant spot but safe from small caliber​AA but take more damage from high caliber AA or a need to change a ceiling in order to attack first like torpedo bomber need to gone down to low attitube made them vulnarable for AA fire but it need to perform inorder to drop torpedo, And made CV hardest counter to DD but made cruiser is hardest counter to CV by increase its AA range and potency of its AA while BB and CV should couter each other

I'm kinda new to the game, i got Midway and Yorktown, i still don't understand how you aim your green reticle above the ship and still hit!?? and you also sometimes aim with torpedoes bombers behind arming distance and still your torpedoes arm in time!

@@ShockSmile Its a replay bug. When you play replays, the reticle are not shown to be perfectly placed unfortunately.

It's impossible to balance carriers, the very principle of a PLANE is to go fast anywhere. When you include this in a game where SHIPS go 30 knots and take 30 seconds to turns, it cannot go well. It's simple as that. You cannot balance something that has INHERENTLY the upper hand. And if you nerf them too much they become useless, but if they has the slightliest of power, then they become OP. And it's the same thing with subs, they can't fit in the game, period.

If they are that OP why the population of CV players is lower than the Sub players in NA server?, I don't know how is in the other serves.

Because they are boring to play? The majority of peoples play the game to shoot at each others, take risks and make plays. Carriers are just a point and click adventure with no real interactions. It's just a DPS check on the carrier side.

I mean can we all agree WG should have never REWORKED CVs, oh btw THEY ARE DOING IT AGAIN for the SECOND TIME, im nothing will go HORRABLILY WRONG and somehow make things WORSE then they already are. And why did they do it? Console releases..... I have no doubt at this point. RTS CVs where by no means perfect, but for god sake at least CVs had stuff to do besides SPOT DDs and Farm Damage. Like ya know.... defend your team from the ENEMY CARRIER with your own fighters! From my own XP the only thing that was totally OP about RTS CVs was dropping 2 manually dropped Torpedo bombers in a criss cross pattern, since CV torpedoes seemed to do the same damage as DD torpedoes back then. Of course their was also always that A HOLE CV player on the other team that would be like "you don't get to play the game" and nuke you at the start of the match. God forbid they put in any effort. The "Action" style CVs just SUCK for everyone involved, CV gameplay is BORING and No one can stop you. Fighter Squadrons are useless both on Ships and Dropped by CVs, they only shoot down X number of planes rather then the whole squadron (cus reasons), and even then you can just DODGE them. Also, as a Carrier, if your team SUCKS their is nothing you can do anymore to turn the match around. On the flip side, if your team is Dominating, you are barely going to do any damage cus everyone dies before you can lay into them. (may as well go hunt the enemy carrier at that point) While it is nice that "cv sniping" is heavily discouraged, the only reason that is case is cus CVs have CAP FIGHTERS! Once the CAP Fighters are gone the CV is just as vulnerable as any other Surface ship even with their Excellent AA. And for reasons only known to WG (probably because they are running out of ideas), they are trying to push CV gameplay on to EVERY ship type. I have no doupt their will be Japanese Premium sub with Airstrikes, or maybe the whole Japanese Sub Line will have Airstrikes.

@@uravgwargamer3300 And I didn't even go into the part of the Rant where I talk about Anti Aircraft firepower. The fact is Most ships can't stop CV strikes at all, even grouped up I bet. (no seriously IV DONE THE MATH to find your real AA damage value, they are not good) Cus even Full AA specced, the only squadrons you can ONE SHOT with Flak puffs mind you, are Japanese squadrons, maybe German and Russian ones too. American and British planes are just TOO tanky (they would need to be hit Twice by Flak at least, probably MORE with British planes) to be shot down effectively. Your AA damage is just useless, cus it chews up planes 1 at a time instead of being random like it was on release, which would sometimes shoot down a plane attacking you. Fact is your AA damage chews up the LAST strikes and works backwards, INSTEAD OF KILLING THE PLANES TRYING TO KILL YOU, IT SHOOTS THE SQAUDRON FLYING OVERHEAD! (this will never stop pissing me off. Until this changes, things will never get better) On a unrelated but similar note, while people also are calling for the Head of every Sub Captain as well, At least submarines actually require Skill to SOME extent (to survive contact with the enemy and deal damage). Subs actually have to put themselves in Danger to deal damage, and while we can all agree the Homing Torpedos are BullS@$#, "Just Dodge" does work if you know HOW to dodge them. Plus higher tier subs have none homing torps, which I tend to use so it feels like I'm actually playing a SUB GAME. Now if only WG would do something about the RATE at which Submarines can ping you and I think everyone would MOSTLY stop bitching about them. (Submarines are just Torpedo DDs at the end of the day)
