Carrying Military Axles And 46" Tires Off Hells Revenge

Trailmater Offroad Recovery

Received a call from a customer about their jeep stuck on Hells. They stated it had Rockwell axles and they had heard a pop and now one tire wasn't powered and it was having trouble turning. So we grabbed Trailmater and went after it. After getting there and checking it out we decided to carry it and only set it down when we were on steep climbs. Things went well, we only had to stop once and change rigging after seeing a strap had been damaged by a bracket on the frame rail. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.
Shirts should be back in stock within the next week on www.trailmater.com Thank you everyone that bought us out so quick.

I've said it before - Thank You for keeping the natural sounds in your videos. I much prefer to listen to the engine noise, the creaks and groans and tire squeaks, and the small talk rather than any music. Your videos are like being there watching you vs watching a mini movie production.

I think I have watched every post you have done, yet I am still amazed watching you do the recovery. Us regular people feel we have accomplished an amazing feat to make it through a section, then along you come towing another vehicle. Sort of deflates a bit😂 You and mater seem to understand each other’s capabilities and use them to the full.

@tractorboy31

@@sam_s_ Im guessing the clutch is locked together vs an auto is gonna have torque converter slip plus auto you dont have complete control. I dont remember seeing a video giving the reasons but this is my thought.
@paytonruss55
@paytonruss55 2 года назад
@@sam_s_ Main reason is because he prefers a manual over auto the others is because of gearing and torque because in that particular manual it suited better for towing. So in brief - he can feel through his feet and the rest of trail mater what the load needs. The entire running gear is set up for torque in low gears to pull weight up ledges and hills. So in short... it's better to have a manual for towing off-road.
@paytonruss55

Rory I enjoy your channel but something that you could add to it is whenever you go out on a run tell us the viewers how far away that run is if it's 85 miles or if it's 10 miles, or whatever the distance is, I enjoy knowing how far you have to travel for that specific recovery. And another thing that would be very helpful is like on this recovery when you picked up that jeep with the military axles, it had something down on that front axle that looked like a disc brake but I don't know what it was, I'm not that familiar with four wheel drive stuff like that for rock climbing and that kind of climbing heavy duty stuff, so if you could explain those things ... what they are used for on those vehicles.... it was right on the front axle and it seemed like it was a disc brake... curious looking thing. And anytime you're fixing a vehicle if you would just kind of mention what it is you're doing or explain things like what a locker is , like when you get in your truck and you say this one's got lockers or this one doesn't have lockers.... for the four-wheel drive guys that's probably very self-explanatory, but for the person that doesn't understand four wheel drives that well it's a mystery... okay these are just some thoughts. Have a great day!
