This was right after the last battle of the 150th Gettysburg action. It started to pour just as the last shot fired. Everyone made a mad dash for the exit but shortly the grass field turned into a mud pit. Car after car drove down into the bowl, Soon it was bad enough that some were not making it out, then lots were not making it out. Still they came... I have more footage and will load that when I get a chance to edit all of this. This is just raw recording but I thought it was funny. It took 3 HOURS to clear out. We just waited and watched. The joy really starts when you see the guy in yellow start directing a few out the back.

You don't need a pickup truck or SUV to climb a muddy hill: At 3:40 that Chevy Sonic is doing it right. Followed by 3:55 that Toyota Prius. You just need some momentum and good tires.

It has more to do with tires and RWD vs FWD than it does with a Ram truck vs Prius. Skinnier tires will grip better, and it's easier to pull the car (FWD) rather than push the car (RWD) when going uphill in slippery conditions.

All reenactors have experienced this at least once. I thought the blue and silver suburban was funny! It didn't move the whole video they just sat there like a slug... It was their only defense.

you should see after the Phillip Island GP!! There was about 70 cars in one park that were all tiny rental cars stuck with mud sprayed all over the sides. Only one person was smart enough to bring a 4x4 and she spent hours pulling people out

I've got a 4wd Tundra just bought it in august and it had street tires. a month later replaced them with some BFGOODRICH AT KO2s and lemme just say they make a huge difference. I've gotten out of like .5' of mud going uphill with my landscape trailer loaded with pinestraw bales in 2wd promise you. you should have seen the faces of the guys at the landscape supply as they saw me get out. PRICELESS

Why would anyone ever buy a pickup truck without 4WD? You might as well buy a Civic or a Minivan. Second, wet grass sucks for traction, no matter what tires you run. Third, none of these idiots should ever be allowed off pavement ever again. Have they never heard of locking it into 1 or 2 and keeping up momentum until they crest the hill? Throttle control, people! Jeebus!

Anyone who has parked in a Beaver Stadium parking lot has probably seen this same scene play out. We have broken out the grill and tailgated watching all but the most desperate escape the mud bowl, then offered a tow strap to the desperate few wondering what is to happen to them as the lights go out and darkness falls...

This footage adds credibility to many of the online reviews for all wheel drive vehicles. Usually, the reviewer traverses a section of trail that APPEARS to present NO significant challenge (on video at least), then praises the vehicle's "off road ability". Considering the limited skills of most drivers, and how slick mud can get, "off road ability" is a relative term.

that suburban at 2:39 in the top right was me haha me and my dad had that and the tractor pulling hay wagons of people to and from there camps, this popped up and i thought it was interesting... i pulled many people out that day haha, also at my farm where all the spectators were parked at was a mess too.

I can remember going to a car show last year and some kid parking next to me with one of those all wheel drive compact S.U.V's. He says to me in a smart *ss tone "why do you have such a big truck, that's dumb' When I went to leave the kid was sitting in his car spinning in the mud. I started my truck and idled out of the mud, he gave me a dirty look.

We were there, Our Dodge Grand Caravan didnt have much trouble with the mud as long as i could keep it moving. That rain came down in "INSTA-SOAK" after the battle. SOAKED Sweaty wool.... ohhh such fun.

I have been to many festivals so well versed in mud. I remember one time being so stuck mud was spraying up the sides of the car. I made it in the end though. It rained non stop through the afternoon and finally got away 2am. When I got up the next the car was caked in mud.

At the Yorkshire show in england we had much worse than this. They had to use a golf course as extra parking. bad idea. when everyone wanted to leave it started to get churned up. Tractors had to be used to get people out. It didn't help that it was on a slope steeper than this either. I remember a big Massey furgoson tractor spinning all 4 wheels going up the hill. what a sight. That was proper mud. like 1 foot deep mud.

Blomberg - Template Editor I'm aware it's a V70. I own an XC70; the XC70 is not 4x4, it's AWD. Both the XC70 and V70 are AWD.

If I was in that field with my Accord I would be doom because my front end is sitting so low but then again I could probably drive there and not get stuck I see the issue here people are driving on the mud instead the grass if you drive where there's mud you will get stuck my snow tires would drive over the mud and not get stuck

nice place for my Nissan Bluebird car its awd and SR20DE+T turbo will have soo much fun in this field haha its all on how to take on the incline you don't need 4x4 4wd awd to get up there it helps but not needed, if you know how to take it on, i could get up in a RWD or FWD car/van/or truck

according to the description, the joy starts when you see the guy in yellow. the guy in yellow appears at 8:00, 24 seconds before the end of the video. this has to be the most uninteresting crap i have ever suffered through on youtube, and i have seen a lot of uninteresting crap on youtube. if i were to edit this video down to just the highlights, it would be 0:00 long.
