Watching that Villeneuve accident the first thing I thought of was Zinardi. This race could have been far more interesting if the top contenders hadn't been taken out so early.
10:17 race start 21:05 first yellow flag 31:04 second green flag 39:10 second yellow flag 1:01:51 third green flag 1:26:54 third yellow flag 1:33:50 fourth green flag 1:39:53 end of the race
29 cars started this race & 3 DNQ on a mile oval. Crazy!!! I haven't watch this race for over 20 years, I was only 15 years old then. The thing I notice from this race and the Indycar race at Phoenix this year. These cars back in day can pass on the outside, bit today Indycars with all there downforce struggle to pass on other on the same track. Why is that?
Phoenix was repaved back in 2012 and no has progressive banking rather than flat banking. Really it's unfair to compare the two because they are completely different tracks now.
