(Visit: www.uctv.tv/) Tony Capra (Vanderbilt Univ) and his team analyzed the contribution of common Neandertal variants to over 1000 electronic health record (EHR)-derived phenotypes in ~28,000 adults of European ancestry. Their results establish that archaic admixture influences disease risk in modern humans, provide hypotheses about the effects of hundreds of Neandertal haplotypes, and demonstrate the utility of HER data in evolutionary analyses. This is all very interesting. And pretty amazing for 7 years ago. There is research indicating Neanderthal transcription factors can regulate the gene deserts even though those genes in the deserts were selected against.

Interesting. I have about 4% Neandertal DNA and I have genetic Protein S deficiency (sounds worse) but it just means my blood coagulates quickly, risk of deep vein thrombosis (shouldn't sit too long) or risk during major surgery and because I now I know how to mitigate it. But when he mentions hyper coagulate in his chart I wonder is this from ancient Neandertal?

Depression, not per se, but the associated generally pessimistic view of life and world really can have some value in survival in extreme conditions. Also known as caution.

The word "caution", look that up please. Optimists tend to be less cautious than pessimists, as "there might be danger involved if I do this" never occurs to them.

I wonder whether its possible that such dna that is thought to come from Neanderthal could be homosapien dna that evolved under the conditions presented to it by the environment in the middle east . the same way the Neanderthals evolved those dna features because of the same environment?

The human race almost went extinct 60,000 years ago. Was this the time of NOAH?

That is very unlikely given the fact that the story of noah was written about 800 BC. Actually this story was borrowed from the epic of Gilgamesh approx 1000 years earlier.
