Totally disagree about your opinion on the Cartier tank straps. I absolutely love the way Cartier doesn’t taper their straps. It makes these watches look far more masculine and less dainty on the wrist. I hate the fact that I can’t find a non-tapered 20mm strap for my 1675, 5508 or my 1016. They all taper to 16mm at the buckle and it’s maddening. Quick side note, I’m the one who sold Christian his mid 70s Cartier Automatique, just like yours. He’s featured my Cartier on a few videos and spoke about it with you, in one of your collaborative videos! Small world! Cheers! Graham
I really love Cartier Tanks but with a 7.5 inch wrist they just look so tiny on me. I'm 6"4 as well so I think it is a hard sell for me. Tried some on in Harrods. Will have to get a framed picture of one instead! This one looks great. How comfortably does it sit on the wrist considering the protrusion at the back?
Some of the jumbo references could work especially a longer cased version like the Tank American. Or worst case frame on and hang it on the wall heh! 😎
@@geraldwoodny5252 it wears nice, I think the trend of huge watches is in decline... just look at where the deepsea sea-dwellers are at.. it's not supposed to wear large but this one is larger which is more modern by today's size standards!
wears very comfy actually, I personally don't notice the "bubble" and its not overly heavy for being solid 18k.. you can feel it but its not an anchor that's for sure!
I’m seeing some automatic jumbo’s listed out there that has the absence of the “Cartier” on the VII, including Hodinkee and Amsterdam Vintage Watches… Are only some watches listed with Cartier on the VII? What about those that does not have it - authentic or fake? Thanks in advance!
Have a new SS Tank XL, bought from Cartier, got a blue extra strap from them, the price difference between it and grey was like two hundred dollars, but got an extra included strap gratis, nice when you use the chat button on the website, I live iin NJ, they got it to me like two days, free, did have to pay sales tax, but I like children educated and a good professional police force so, I'm OK with it. But it saying all this, my last name is Paris, I WOULD have loved for it to have Paris on the bottom and not Swiss. Not a hater but not a big fan of yellow gold, which helps in the pocket book. What I do like is their straps use quick release now, so no chance of scratching the watch. Just discovered your channel, like your reviews and story. OK I'm almost a year late.
That watch is absolutely stunningly beautiful, but it's limited because it's very dressy, I think? Whereas, a Rolex that's gold and stainless can be worn with a bathing suit or tuxedo. But the Cartier is much more beautiful.
Craft & Tailored 57 seconds ago Not on the early automatics 😎 the later versions yes they also incorporated a date complication! But the OG's never has a sweep seconds hand
@@craftandtailored does it keeps time accurately? Or do you often need to adjust it? I would want one for me as a daily driver, kind of never take it off watch,
I had a second look at this video. Sorry to say. But his one does not have an original dial but has a later aftermarket dial.! The watch was made between 1973-76. The Cartier Tank Jumbo from this time period did not had security features in the dial numerals seven or ten. This was introduced after 1977 early 80's. Shame!
