Cartoon Network UK promos and ads (July 1996)

Clips from the Cartoon Network from the summer of 1996 (most likely July), out of The Flintstones, around SWAT Kats, and into Two Stupid Dogs. Obviously, I've had to edit out the shows, and there's also a break in the recording in the middle, but the full retro flavour is still fully intact. Look out for promos for the likes of Dexter's Lab, rivals the Disney and Sci-fi channels (slightly strangely), and a Flipper competition.

I remember watching Cartoon Network during the summer of 1996 We had cable back then this brings me back to when I was 12

My cable provider was NTL. Cartoon Network used to run from 6am to 9pm. TNT used to take over from 9pm onwards.

According to that Home Improvement promo for Disney Channel, I can also confirm that this set of promos came from July of that year.

Oh the memories. I remember when they used to switch between the UK and Scandinavian version. UK version was great since it had CN untill 10pm because of the timezone.

I guess it varied where your satellite signal came from on certain cable services. :) Eventually CN would become a 24/7 channel. :)

@@David315842 The free to air Cartoon Network that used to switch between the UK and the Scandinavian version was sharing it's channel slot with TNT. If you wanted the 24h one you needed to buy the extra package which contained the full 24h TNT and CN channels - later i think they added Boomerang. That was during analog era though. Also to add that was only available in Cable or Sat packages. During the FTA era i don't think the 24/7 channel even existed in Europe.

Thanks again for uploading these clips from the Nootcar Tecworn. :D I had forgotten that there was a full SWAT Kats episode amongst the programs that were recorded off of Sky for some reason. It always amazes me that your baffled by the fact that satellite/cable channels advertise themselves on each other's channels. :D :)
