Got the 2x12 combo version. The controls and chassis are in reverse. 25w switch seems to only lower the headroom of the power tubes, so they saturate earlier. It doesn't make it less loud. On a 4CM config with Boss GT10 and Revv G series, I set the bias cold, so I get my dist stacking the hi gain with the Revv. In cold Bias, you don't get that much dist directly on the amp unless you have hot pickups and get the master up. But getting the master far from 2 just make the neighbors call the police, the fireman, batman and so on. I have not been able to replicate in the digital world what I hear in real life yet, and my line out sometimes doesn't get signal. But when the amp works, oh boy, what a sound. Of course, you have to sit down an afternoon and dial. Tone stack is active! so past 5 is boost instead. Really good amp for 70/80 rock/metal sounds, and the clean is so clear. Also, it does like boost.
i just got one and i'm fairly certain that it still has the original tubes. they're carvin branded and everything. needless to say i probably need to replace them.
Hi, I have this same amp head. Are you using it with a pedal in front or using both chanbels for clean and distortion? Also, you mention that you change tubes and bias it. Did you bias at 100mA or hotter?
