You make it look so easy. And it looks very "life-like", as if it's a real miniature dragon skeleton. Very impressive and a real talking point. I would love to see a full 3-D one displayed under a glass dome.

@omgeodude 5 лет назад
Aaaa, thank you so much for continuing to share your work here! I'm very excited whenever I see a new video from you. Watching your videos gives me a mixed sense of satisfaction and deep respect for the polish of your work. Your style seems very well-developed and is very fun to look at! I had an art instructor tell me once when I was learning digital illustration that she could tell I thought of things in lines, not in shapes - in 2D, not in 3D. And I think I understood what she meant when I saw how you made the ribcage. For some reason, it never occurs to me to make a large shape and use subtractive steps to get individual pieces out of it; if this had been me, I probably would have been scared to start the project for all of my worrying about how to make all of those ribs individually, haha! Additive processes really are my go-to, I guess, which is why I ended up focusing on drawing over sculpting. But that subtractive skill set (as a result) is just like magic to me - I could watch sculpting and woodworking for hours! Anyway, forgive the long comment. In short, thank you again, very much!
@Jonasolsenwoodcraft
@Jonasolsenwoodcraft 5 лет назад
Thanks! yeah it always involves fear when it comes to tacling something like this for me, but the more i face it the less i care about the obstacles that will occour which will still continue to occour, but i have reflected on it a bit and come to the conclusion that things would really be boring without the challenge :) So we got to embrace it
@omgeodude
@omgeodude 5 лет назад
@@Jonasolsenwoodcraft Well it feels like this would be a great chance to say that even the way you embrace that philosophy is really great to watch. With the time it takes, it must have been frustrating to do, but it's so cool that you left in re-working/re-shaping different bits of the skeleton. From the outside I think art is intimidating to people because they see the beginning and the end, but none of the middle. A finished piece really does show up like magic. But I bet leaving in video evidence of parts that didn't work, that you had to figure out, has encouraged more than one person who was scared of woodworking to give it a try! The process is where the art comes from, so it feel important to show others what that can look like. Taking chances is very cool! 😎
