Bad Axe Tool Works (www.badaxetoolworks.com/) has put together a kit to make a one-person frame saw, based on the original, 1760s Roubo style, two-person saw detailed by Lost Art Press (www.lostartpress.com) in the book "To Make as Perfectly as Possible - Roubo on Marquetry" by Andre Roubo.
In coordination with my website (www.marymaycarving.com/carving...) we have put together this instructional video to help teach how to carve the decorative scrolls on the handles of the saw. Anyone who loves hand-tools will want to add this saw to their collection!

Oh Mary May .... I get so excited when you come out with a full length carving project with such detailed explanations for EVERYthing right down to the smallest details!!! I have not yet embarked on my new hobby yet, but, soon, I hope to have enough money to buy a nice set of chisels/gouges. You are such an incredibly talented young woman!!! I'm in my (ahem!) early sixties, and I am certain I want to be you when I grow up. Thank you for sharing your God given gifts and talents with us.

I build mandolins and carving the scroll is one of the trickiest processes.

Mary, Nice tutorial! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Now that I seen how it is done wants me to add scrolls to some of my projects. You’re explanations throughout are very helpful especially about minding the grain of the wood. Also, your emphases on safety is much appreciated. Being on the wrong end of a chisel is not a good experience.

So satisfying! I love the attention to detail, and that helped me be successful on my own Roubo frame saw, thank you, Mary May! By the way, is it recommended to put the scroll on both sides of each handle? Or just the top of it? Thanks again!
