Imagine how much time an ancient sculptor spent on one statue. I’d imagine 2 years

Depends what you are doing, a face like half year but full body statues like Miguel Angel's man took more than 10 years

The worse part is that one wrong move and you loose years of hard work.I truthly respect these artists that used to only have once chance

Insanely good! I sometimes carve in wood like another commenter said, I wonder how it feels to carve in marble. I just wanted to say that I used to work as a welder and used an angle grinder a lot. I heard that you can get problems in your hands because of the vibrations caused. You should consider some sort of vibration absorption additions, like some specialised gloves, so you don't get problems down the line. And please wear some eye protection! Anyway insanely good, must have taken a lot of time and skills to do!

Where I can purchase highest quality stone TCT carving hand chisels ? ( not machine chisels ) The ones I have loose their edge too quickly. I require a bullnose type. Your advise would be most appreciated. Thanks 🙏

@AtharJaber
@AtharJaber 2 года назад

@AtharJaber
@AtharJaber Год назад
@@myspleenisbursting4825 I know it sounds pretentious, but really at a certain point, is very unlikely to make a mistake. The process is so slow and as you approach the final stages of the shapes you switch to smaller hammers and chisels. At that point it's almost impossible to strike wrong. And above all that, the general approach is to always leave enough material to allow for changes during the process.
