yes, more of that energy is being burned off in the motion of the turn it's not as much as footbraking or doing like a standie slide or something but it'll help with speed control.

carving is used to control and slow down speed, pumping is used to create speed. both are similar movements and motions, but the agressiveness behind it is very different
